- Colonial powers in Americas.
- Large and warlike realms all around Africa
- Isolationist stuck-in-feudalism Europe
- Asia inhabited only by natives and readily colonizable after found by explorer Tupac of Inca

An Egypt that never became part of Rome and is still Ruled by a line of Pharaohs. Could be Christian of a type, Coptic/Orthodox? At some point they decide between becoming a greater empire in africa and middle east or choose to become a colonial power wherever coloneys are being built.

That would require that Macedonians never conquer Egypt, perhaps even that Persians don't conquer Egypt...

Or that pharaos would be just descendants of ptolemaic pharaos.

A scenario where the Romans never expanded in the Levant and Africa (or expanded there but lost the provinces early). Both West and East Rome still exist, the hunns never came, so the germanic tribes expanded to Roman area only in a small scale. A Gaul and a Briton kingom could have separated themselves from Rome during a weak era of the empire. The anglosaxons failed to conquer Brittania, so Brittania remained a strong christian kingdom with vassalkingdoms of Hibernia and Caledonia. Gallia is a kingdom who try to remaine balanced between the Franks and a grand coalition of germanic states in north and east and the romans in the south. Judaism could be in, Palestine and Ethipia could be jewish, and the khazars could be included. Persia could still be mazdeist.

Hmm, checked Rise and Salt and got the permission to make it from Sam Vimes as the project is abandoded, but the religion issue would stay.

The other scenario I am leaning towards would be America a bit europe like, europe a bit america like and asia fully colonizable, could be fun.

Maybe have europe under Mongol rule :) Could be various mongol split offs from golden horde or something. Il Khanate in the south. I'm sure that might of delayed the advances in europe some =) Maybe some nations could have revolted away and could have some island kingdoms surviving like england(though it could have become something else than england).

You could still keep Asia ruled by some nations though, Afterall wasn't this about totally aberrated not about totally fantasy? People came to america from asia :O) I think it would propably be quite refreshing to have less colonisable land in one scenario anyway, there could still be some around ofcourse even in asia, maybe more than is.

I think modifying RotW should be the first goal, to introduce differences outside of Europe.

I really like the ideas of :
- China split up, but chains of events to unify Siam (extending up to indian and south chinese borders, and across the isles)
- muslim faith not having expanded so much (westwards yes, but less to the south and east, to leave more space to hinduism - perhaps a spread of hinduism in east & south africa)
- an orthodox Persia revolting from the Timurids (due to orthodox provinces), but keep Mameluks muslim (and Ethiopia/Nubia hindu)
- improved techgroup for Siam, Nippon, and some hindu countries (tough not too much compared to their neighbours)
- someone talked about Carthago, and gave me an idea : Carthago was beaten by Rome, but before the Third Punic War they initiated a big colonization/exodus to the Atlantic, and they're presently an oceanic empire, extending across carraibbeans, Azores, and some other isles of the North Atlantic, but without any contact with Europe, nor with America. First choice would be to go west or east with their explorers.
- either Siam of Nippon could get explorers, and incentives to explore to the east, to discover America from the west (for Nippon) and to the southeast, to Australia/New-Zealand (for Siam)
- a striving Vinland, either still owned by Norway directly, or independent, maps known or unknown (in this case, some events might give the possibility that upon discovery they'll fall under Norway's rule again)

a idea would be that the roman empire never fell
another idea would be vikings colonised Na and now got several states there
arabs never expand and thus don't spread muslim beyond arabia
mongol horde never disintegrated
china never united and a few states have risen there
byzatium never lost egypt ect
the huns never showed up in europe but intead invaded midle east/india

another idea would be that rome never expanded beyond italy and greece/carthage/egypt/gaul/ ect ect are still arround , cristianity/muslim ect never happend and thus every of them got many gods and own religion ect

If you put Vinland in it should be a Norwegian vassal in the start. (Norway could be interresring if they knew the way to America in the beginning). The idea that the Byzantines never fell is interresting, but I would prefer to keep their influence to Greece and Asia Minor in the beginning of the game (but it would be interresting if they got reconquest events for Syria and Egypt). Mamelukes and Persia could fill up the needs of a islamic superpower that dissapear if the ottomans are out. If Pesia is shii'te and Mamelukes sunni there will be interresting wars over the Levant. The Byazntines could get some civil war events too, it's allway interresting to see great powers rise and fall and rise again.
It would also be cool with united Italian republic in North Italy (imagine how rich that country could become). Britain and Scotland could be more split up, but Eire could remain united, and Norway could have influence over the scottish minors.
