Chapter 1. Black Monday.
Germany rules over Central and eastern Europe. With its economic influence, Army and Navy its position is secured for the future.
In the east Russia is an unstable mess only held together by its president who got shot the 5th of January 1936, It's economy is weak, it has no allies. Russia will surely pose no threat to Germany's control over Eastern Europe.
Russia never recovered from the Weltkrieg and the Civil war that tore it apart afterwards. There is a lot of political division. The only thing most Russians have in common, is bitterness toward how Germany neutered Russia as a result of the weltkrieg.
By the 7th of January Lavr Kornilow stormed the Russian parliament and took control over Russia with assistance from Boris Savinkov. If those 2 manage to take control over Russia, there can be no doubt that they will try attack Germany from the East.
To the west are a the French Commune, The Union of Britain. They are allied and lead the 3rd Internationale. They are Germany's true enemies in Europe. They plan on topple German control over Europe and unlike Russia, they actually have a functioning and united government. They of course have no change of conquering Germany. But there are rumors that they are planning to mobilize for war once Germany shows any sign of weakness.
The Union of Britain later embraced Totalism under the leadership of Oswald Mosley.
The Syndicalist states of the West are not by themselves strong enough to defeat Germany, but many European countries have people that supports syndicalism. If they manage to change the government of their nations, Germany could quickly be surrounded by hostile Nations.
On the 4th of February the German Economy collapsed on its self. There can be no doubt that our Enemies will try to exploit Germany's economic weakness and Germany might lose grip on its puppets from this.
Due to the economic collapse, the banks where temporarily closed.
After the shock of from Black Monday Germany was now forced to deal with the aftermath of economic troubles. It was a tough choice.
Should Germany focus on recovering as fast as possible from Black Monday, at the expense of its allies?
It was desided that at least the colonies should have thier most critical expenses covered, in order to maintain the order in the colonies
It is expensive to come back from a collapsed economy, but if Germany wants to maintain its control, it is a necessary expense.
The greatest Dilemma came on the 16th of March 1936.
The German agricultural sector suffers greatly from Black Monday and therefor it needs to be protected from competetion of Ukrainian Agricultural goods. If Germany implement those tariffs, it would hurt the relations of Ukraine and could lead Ukraine away from the German sphere, but if Germany does not implement the tarrifs, the German people will suffer even more. In the end, the pressure from the Junkers became too much and Germany implemented the tariffs, which worsened Germany's relations with Ukraine and to a lesser extent Poland.
The Agricultural Tariffs that Germany implemented will be something the Ukrainians will be bitter about.
