Representing Artisan Workshops (AW), owned and employed by Shopkeepers, would create a prosperous Middle Stratum in Early-modern (before full-on industrialization) countries, which would have the following consequences:
1a. Stronger Petite Burgeoise and Intelligentsia at starting date.
I do wonder if worker-owned consumer industries with T1 PMs are seriously too sparse in the game's starting set-up, and that there should be far more buildings to represent historical economies better.
As basic Building level usually employs 5000 Pops, OPM often end up with number of under-employed 1 lvl Buildings
This is probably the best argument for a subsistence-esque implementation since they are granular enough to fix this problem.
In current build, they tend to end up the poorest Pops in their States, due to how Discrimination works.
I also wonder if this is due to how the game initialises buildings, since I have observed that the order in which pops per state are defined can wildly influence which ownership pops belong to which culture (and thus which culture has most political strength)
