Hi! I have got an approximately 50-hour save on 90% (or so) difficulty at Surviving the aftermath and I have found many problems, so here is a list of my observations (I'm playing on PC):
1. After I have killed all bandits and gathered all resources on the world map the game becomes kinda boring, irregardless the random events and catastrophes, I'm somewhere around day 190, cant get past population number 115 (colonists dieing too fast) and I really miss random events on the world map which comes into the second point...
2. ... and that is the size of the world map, its just too small.
3. I really miss a building (or a gathering point option) that would help to gather my specialists staying at the colony in order to help defenses or a faster building.
4. There should be a key to assigned for the option of moving a vehicle or a specialist on the world map to the previously assigned location through a route, that way I wouldn't have to plan the general direction of the path of their route every day.
5. Having a colony minimap (even if not updated, just the general overview) at the colony would help a lot to move from one point to another especially if the destination is at the far end of the colony map - this way I wouldn't have to scroll all the way there, I could just get there with one click (like in Age of Empires for example).
6. Ultimate goals would be a great addition to the game: like destroying settlement(s). more complex objectives (not ones that I can solve in 1 day), create an alliance etc.
7. A helicopter bay would be great fun, of course that would be useful only on a bigger world map and could be achieved after finding a helicopter on the world map and building the required bay for it.

I hope somebody will find some of these thoughts useful, congrats on creating the best survival management simulation game, thanks.

Thanks. On the world map my survivor is not able to return to the colony. I have two of my survivors there and neither will return to colony. I have tried the quick return button and manually guiding them there, but I am unable to select my colony for them as a destination.

I downloaded this game several months ago to my Xbox one (two different consoles). Played it a couple days, now will not load. Have tried uninstalling and reinstalling on both machines to no success.

On the world map, is your colony literally on top of another location or against side of mountains? I had this issue and only way to fix it was to start over. They are working on this Glitch, it's very rare it seems but when it happens there is currently nothing tbay can be done and a fresh new game is only fix

I agree with most of your points.

There really needs to be a mini map implemented, and the outer zoom level increased for the world map.

The world map needs a lot more work I feel, more quests, anomalies like in Stellaris, moving factions of bandits (which could give you time to prepare for a base attack), etc.

UI tweaks such as resource icons toggle always visible on the colony map, “move all” button for specialists, change the behaviour of resource gathering marker focus to focus on the last drop point, not the building, etc.

Cannot find where to start new thread. Forum map not helpful.
My question/problem is:
I have sent Specialists on the first Quest "The Urban Occult". 2 have unused AP's but I cannot see how to end the turn to advance the storyline.

Can anyone help, please?

If you mean for the specialists to regen AP points, go to your colony view and advance the speed. The little dial around the minimap slowly turns green and will flash once your specialists are ready to go again. Usually After 1 day all specialists will be fully regained their AP points. There is not currently tly a method to do this on the world map that I ak aware of. Definitely something for the Devs to consider adding though!

You SHOULD be able to create a new thread on the main forum page for Surviving the Aftermath, above the Sticky Threads.

Also, after interacting with a quest-related building, the Specialist who interacted with the building, regardless of the result, should be completely drained of AP until the next day. Even then, you don't have to consume AP every single turn, it depends on the circumstances your specialists and vehicles are in, more so since mechanics were changed for World Map bandit camps and scavenging.

Thank you SO much for replying so quickly. It was very kind of you. I think I DID finally figure out the mechanics, after going back to the game and just letting it run. Couldn't find anything in the Help Files, but maybe I asked the wrong question, likewise on the Web.

It HAS reaffirmed my dislike of turn-based games...and reminded me to pay closer attention to Game Descriptions. I have dozens of useless side-scrollers, Point-&-Click, Platformers that I've bought on the basis of graphics. Must learn to curb my enthusiasm (wink).

Thanks also for the hint about New Threads. A very positive first interaction on this Forum.

Your rapid response to my query is GREATLY appreciated. TYSM. I did finally, (accidentally) discover the game mechanic by going to bed, getting up later and having another go at it. Then eventually saw the popup notice that AP Points were restored. Your confirmation of my understanding is very comforting.

Yeah, I HAVE noticed the popup for letting you know AP was restored for the day showed up much less often. Forced me to manically check the globe to see if a day has passed. Not healthy.

At this point, I WOULD say having independent time-based mechanics (like those you would find in an idle game or something) should be implemented, rather than a pseudo-turn-based mechanic, but it's so late in development that joke isnt funny anymore.

I'll still play the game, make no mistake, but at least add a bell or something to indicate its time to move Specialists in the World Map again, if not the regular notifications. There isnt even a pulse from the green ring when filled, which would probably go unnoticed anyway, so an audio cue would be fine. A loud one.

Not sure whats different from your version to mine but I have an audible notice as well as the the green bar flash once its full??

Hey all! A lot of messages to reply to in this thread as there seem to be a few issues but I'll try and cover all the topics.

Thanks for the suggestions! Some of these are "issues" that we do know - the World Map for example, we are aware of it becoming obsolete at some point - only a place to perform quests after everything has been scavenged and so we are looking at options to make it more interesting even in the end game stages.

I'll forward these to the rest of the team, no promises or guarantees of changes based on these, but I can promise you that they will be considered :)

Heya, as mentioned by @Alias_RM13 above, this is a known issue we are working on - sadly nothing can be done to save that colony - I would recommend starting a new colony instead if you have not done this yet.

Heya! What happens when you load the game? Also what part will not load? Is it an issue where the entire game will not load at all? Or is it an issue where a save will not load? I need a bit more information to help with this :)

As for the APs refilling - there should always be a notification when they are filled and the World Map button should flash. If you visit the World Map after they have been filled, both these notifications will not show again until they are filled again - we implemented this change after the change to the Scavenging action on the World Map as the Specialist now remains in the location and did not want these to constantly be claiming that you should use the Action Points when in reality you are going to use them for the scavenging action. I will however forward the feedback of this needing to be even more clearer!
