I was unable to duplicate this on my Mac or Windows machines. Does it require a restart because the game is hung? Or just to kill the sound loop?

Is anyone else reading this, able to duplicate this?

yes needs a game restart to kill the sound loop.
for me it always triggers when both mouse buttons are pressed on the planet location picker

both on realtek onboard with 2.0 speakers and razer kraken headset 7.1

updated both drivers and ran the directx setup. still persists

edit: im also getting this on the planetary view (anomalies planet view)

@AndrewT I have been able to reproduce the issue. However, I do notice that it stops once you enter gameplay and the announcer says "Welcome to Mars". It can also be reproduced when in-game by going to the planetary view and dragging the map, and again it clears when you exit that view.

Additional testing: If you haven't entered gameplay and the sound is looping, return to the main menu > options > will stop the sound from continuing to play
