Version 1.0 Patch Notes

Tech Tree Changes
  • US will have his production reduced 50% initially. While USA is taking steps leading to war this production will increase over time. There are two major events that will increase US production. One is a normal Gearing up and the second is the War Appropriations bill (Increase 50%). When the US goes to war the Appropriations bill will kick off and a Total war event will also kick off (increase 75%).
  • Major power specific Infantry.
  • Light aircraft tech tree will be completely revamped. For a list of aircraft in it click on this link.
  • Heavy aircraft tech tree will be completely revamped. For a list of aircraft in it click on this link.
  • Fighter order numbers will be tooned so the AI will build his best Air to Air fighter.
  • Ship costs (all of them) will be re-done so that Major powers can build navies the size they historically had.
  • New images and descriptions for Light Aircraft (Thanks Luxor)
  • New images and descriptions for Heavy Aircraft. Thanks Omni for the descriptions.

AI Changes
  • Complete redo Italian AI. This includes a new AI file for Italy joining the Allies or Commiterm.
  • Russian/German front war AI (between the two) has been completely re-done. Expect a slugfest and no 1 to 2 year conquest.
  • Romania has a new AI file to release his restraints on attacking his neighbors under certain curcumstances.
  • Hungary has a new AI file to release his restraints on attacking his neighbors under certain circumstances.
  • After Italy conquers Ethiopia he will remove most of his forces from that area and bring them back to North Africa and Europe.
  • If the Danzig event happens and Neth or Belgium is allied with England Germany will wait till Poland is gone before moving into the low countries.
  • Spanish Republic and Spanish Nationalist were not loading their Spanish Civil war AI files (bug in CORE). This has been fixed.
  • Japan will load his prep-Pacific AI if he backs down at the Marco Polo incident and does not DOW China.
  • Japan will load his prep-Pacific AI if the USA does a Trade Embargo on them.
  • Japan will hand some territories back to Manchuria once they advance a certain distance into China.
  • Netherlands East Indies starts in the game as a puppet of the Netherlands.
  • Improved world trade market.
  • England has lost national claims on Gibraltar, St. Helena, St. John and Port Stanley.
  • Japan has lost national claims on Bonin Islands and Saishu.
  • Italy has lost its claims on Dodekanisos and Rhodos islands.
  • Manchuria size will increase to what the historically had control of.
  • England will loose his national provinces in India.
  • Change Poland national provinces.
  • USA improved Garrisoning.
  • Italian garrison AI improved all around.
  • Vichy should garrison North Africa.
  • China will no longer garrison the Portugal/English border.
  • Russia will garrison the Manchuria border.
  • England should invade Ireland if at war.
  • Japan when at war in the Pacific will choose India plan or Australia plan.
  • England should defend his beaches.
  • Improved Italian AI for fighting Greece.
  • Japan needs more of his starting territory beaches added to all his AI files.
  • Russia will loose claim on Petsamo.
  • Germany will garrison Aarhus during SitzKrieg.
  • Once England secures North Africa he will make a decision either invade through Greece or Italy.
  • Germany wins the war against Russian he will load his Africa AI and go after Spain.
  • Japan will get a defensive AI file loaded after certain conditions are met. This is so the AI will redistribute his invasion priorities.
  • England will get a new AI file to handle Turkey joining the Axis.
  • Germany (Sealion AI) If Germany chooses the option of Sealion he will try and conquer England. Once he has control of England he will move on to Canada and the USA.
  • When Canada or England invade France they will have events that kick off handing control of the hexes to the USA since that theater belongs to the USA. This is to make sure the forces stay together and focused. This event will only happen 10 times for each of them. Until Paradox makes a persistant command with a trigger that is the best I can do.
  • Experimenting with Chain AI file for the USA. The concept is to give the USA a chain of AI files so that he prioritizes areas better.

Event Changes
  • TechMod Sharing for all countries (including U00 numbers) for all alliances.
  • Add a chain of AddCore/RemoveCore events for the Chinese to help cut them down on militia building.
  • If Germany attacks Russian between 1936-1941 the first winter the Germans will suffer the Winter War Effects.
  • Danzig or War event will have a secondary event for the Russians which will cause them to DOW Poland on September 15th. Once Poland falls the Commiterm and the Allies will go to peace.
  • Atmark event will be slightly changed. There may be a chance England will DOW Norway before Germany depending on what options are selected and a random roll.
  • Marco Polo incident will have an alternate version of it to account for Japan being at war with someone already. (In other words Japan will be more willing to negotiate a deal with China rather than war).
  • Romania shipments of Oil will be monthly to Germany in exchange for technology(given once a year).
  • Romania will make monthly shipments of Oil/Coal to Italy in exchange for technology(given once a year).
  • Germany will send less coal to Italy.
  • Burma road events. With the new resource layout China tends to become short on resources when Japan reaches their historical borders. The Burma road events will consist of England controlling certain hexes and China controlling certain hexes. In addition the USA will have to be a democracy. Then resources/supplies will be shiped to China via the Burma road. These resources/supplies will be taken from the American pool instead of Englands.
  • Japan will have the option to close the Burma road, using political preasure.
  • USA will have the option to re-open the Burma road if Japan has closed it using political preasure.
  • Small fixes to Winter War events.
  • Japan/NEI (Netherlands East Indies) trade is done monthly. As long as Japan is not atwar this trade will not be cut off by the USA. The Trade Embargo by the USA will cut this resources off. The Trade Embargo event has been modified to check for Japan being atwar or has conquered China. If either of these events are true then when the historical date of the trade embargo comes it will kick off cutting all resources being imported to Japan from NEI.
  • German/Sweden trade events have been totaly redone. They are monthly and you negotiate yearly contracts. If you skip a year you will have the option the following year to continue the contract.
  • Spanish Civil war events were Germany and Italy give tech to Spain will be updated to check that Germany and Italy actually have the techs researched.
  • If Japan becomes a puppet of Russia he will hand his Asian territories to Communist China for the Chinese Civil War event.
  • The fall of Czhekloslavakia event will take into account if Hungary and Germany are at war or if Hungary does not exist to prevent Hungary from trying to grab the one province.
  • Vichy will loose his claims on northern France.
  • If things are moving A-Historical and the Danzig event happened + France gets Vichied then Germany will have an event kick off if Yugoslavias is alligned toward facism to make them ally with Germany. This will be an AI only event human German players will have to invite Yugoslavia in to their alliance.
  • The big three meeting event will be added. If England, USA and Russia agree to the terms of the meeting (which is to partition Europe) then no matter how much territory either side takes once Germany falls they will partition Europe. If either of them refuse the compromise of the Big Three meeting they will suffere a dissent hit. In addition once Germany falls Warsaw Pact and NATO will be formed in Europe. (Yes technically these did not form till a bit after but the actual borders were drawn as soon as Germany fell.)
  • Germany will have the Siegfried line. When France falls and the Maginot line is destroyed Germany will have the option to extend the Siegfried line further north along the Rhine.
  • Germany will loose his claims on the Maginot line provinces in France. Once Germany goes to war with France he will get those claims back. This is to prevent Human players from demanding the maginot line and having a dumb AI give it to him hehe.
  • Bitter peace will change. Once it is put in place Russia will give Germany military access and Germany will give Russia military access. This is to prevent them from declaring war on each-other 1 day after the bitter peace event. In addition this will solve the problem of divisions being stuck in eachothers territory.
  • Yugoslavia joining Axis then changing sides to England event will change. If Yugoslavia is controlled by the AI it has a 15% chance of staying allied with Germany. In the original code it only had a 5% chance.
  • Sweeden will give territories back to Finland if they got involved the Soviet/Fin war.
  • Sweeden gets involved in the Russo-Finish War they will become a puppet of Finland and send EXP-Forces. The puppet status will be terminated at the end of the war.(This is going to be heavily tested cause I want to make sure Finland will release those forces after the war).

Design Changes
  • Redo all combat penalties so that bad weather really does hamper attacks.
  • Chinese Infrastructure reworked to represent more accurately how bad it was.
  • Russian IC reworked on the map so that the soviets controlled by a human player can not build IC all over the country.
  • Went through the AI files and applied the new codding standards.
  • Modified unit manpower usage and supplies based on 1 manpower = 700 soldiers calculation. Division size information is being collected from this link and this link.
  • Added sprites into the game engine using ones provided on the SR website.
  • Cleaned out leader pics to find which are not being used or are covered by 0411 Pic Pac.
  • Went through the INC setup files and applied the new codding standards.
  • Fixed revolt.txt file so all countries can be liberated.
  • Starting OOB updated so everything has a leader
  • Italian fleet was set to start in the Quattara Desert in Egypt. This was a CORE setup bug and is fixed. Thanks Schmee for finding this one.
  • Integrate Math Guys suggestions for calculating build times etc... as per this thread.
  • Color scheme for the world based off the World In Flames template.
  • NEI has a flag and shield, thanks SST Beetle.
  • NEI has ministers and leaders. Thanks Schmee!
  • Minister Pack 0411 CSV files will be included in the install. If you want the leader graphics install the official pack and if you do not then just leave it as is. Thanks Luxor.
  • More historical resource and IC layout (compliments of Julian Cate, thanks man!).
  • Samoa island belonged to the USA in 1936 not New Zealand.
  • Use a batch file to copy the province.csv file into the db folder. This solves any issue with other mods being installed.
  • Going to redo manpower for every nation in the game. As I hit each nation I will update this page with the data.
  • Restructuring of the AI file directory.
  • Clean up of all Events to cut down on CTDs and restructuring.
  • Setup in its own directory and independent from CORE.
  • Desktop image for execution (need help I do not do graphics, volunteers?).
  • HOI Load image (need help I do not do graphics, volunteers?).

Known Issues
  • Super AI Pack 1.3 would CTD if you DOWed Egypt directly while they are in the allies forcing England to annexed them. This will be fixed in Super AI Bundle.
  • Super AI Pack 1.3 for CORE has a small problem with the event kicking off to start the Chinese civil war. This has been fixed in Super AI Bundle.

The only major thing holding us up right now is the new armor tech tree. Julian has vanished like a fart in the wind. He posts occasional on our forums but has not replied or sent me an email in ages so I am not sure what is going on. I would like to say about 2 weeks but it depends on the armor tech tree.

Lothos, what structure you are thinking for the armor tech tree? A more traditional Hoi/Core, in which you could "design" your tank, or something in the line of the planes tech tree in Super AI Bundle?

I think the latter could provide a great solution, maybe something like:

1942:
Pz VI Tiger Ausf A
88mm Cannon
700hp Maybach engine

and so on. Comments anyone?
 
At this point we are talking about streamlining it. Make less modules to build. Lone Wolf I got your email. I have not blow you off just trying to get a few things fixed up before I send you the URL to download.
