Stuck at 'Press any key' when joining a server

So when I first start the game and it does the press any key it works fine, but when I try to join any game and the press any key screen appears nothing happens when I try press a key. When I first downloaded the game it worked fine but after I rebooted my computer it stopped working.

This problem can occur if you are missing some file in the game or if you or the person you are trying to join has the wrong version of the game. (happened to me one time)

Try this:
-Right click on the game in steam libary
-Chose "Local files"
-press "Verify integrity of game cache"

This will check if the game is missing something. it take up to 1 min to check
