Please explain your issue is in as much detail as possible.
I had passed "Greater than Ourselves" through the GC, but the "Greater than Ourselves" edict didn't seem to be working properly, so I checked my Migration Controls, and my synthetic species did not have Migration Controls beside Enabled.

Steps to reproduce the issue.
1) Load save

2) Just check the species tab and any synthetic/robotic species options, they don't have Migration Control options.

My founder species' original form does have Migration Controls, but I couldn't switch them from locked to unlocked.

it's not a bug, it's an intentional(and terrible) design choice, the way migration currently works is 100% intentional. that doesn't make it any less bad, but that does mean that this probably belongs on the main page, not the bug reports. it still needs to be changed (and it hopefully will with 2.9s new autoresettlement system)

I fixed it by writing a mod in the interim.

It turns out to be a pretty simple fix, depending on exactly how you want to "fix" it.
The most simple I can see is: once you have started down the synthetic ascension path (IE have the Flesh Is Weak AP) you get access to full migration controls, and full species rights for machines and robots, regardless of your ethics.

The mod is both on Parados and the Steam library steam file id 2514683743 called Synthetic Evolution Fix
 
Hi, looks like ist still not fixed. Its okay for other species, but as a synth emprie its totally annoying micro management. Wait for nearly 4 years now to start a new synthrun on iron mode, stopped my last because of the micromanagement. Its sooo sad.
 
Next week this bug report is 4 years old. Lets hope there is 4 years alert. :p

looks like its an easy fix, as there are simple mods for it. I play on ironmode, so sadly i can't use the mod.
