After defeating an AI empire, I found a Strange Wormhole but it will not let me explore it

What expansions do you have installed?


Do you have mods enabled?
No

Please explain your issue is in as much detail as possible.
Pretty sure this is the Crystal Rift event chain, but it seems stuck. Guessing it is because an AI emprie started it?

Steps to reproduce the issue.
take over system with Strange wormhole from AI empire before they explore it

This is not a bug (I suppose). You can't explore the Crystal Rift unless it spawned for your empire.

Usually the ai messes up and the system in the center of the galaxy explodes. Which locks the wormhole for eternity.
I do not know if it becomes explorable, if the event succeeds and the formless empire being formed (it honestly should, how else are u supposed to fight a hostile formless subject in a war against the overlord?)
