The other option is to copy/paste your CK2 folder out of the steam folder so you'd have 2 version of the game, one that gets updated by steam, and one that doesn't.

Mods are in your user folder, not in the game folder, so you will have to make sure that mod version and game version you are running are compatible.

To the people sneering about using commas as decimal points (some 10 pages ago, slowpoke much)... almost the entirety of Europe uses comma as the decimal point! Stop being so American!

I don't know what time it goes on sale, but the patch will go out sometime before (leave Steam running if you want the auto-update!). On a good day, all modes of acquisition are equally fast -- get your key from Greenman Gaming, the Paradox store, or anywhere... or buy straight from Steam. They, in theory, should all still deploy via Steam at the exact same time. Doesn't mean there won't be some hiccup.

Commas as decimal MARKS. A point would be a point. Like North America... not to forget India and China. South America also uses the comma, so it's not really a European thing, and a good number of (south) Americans would dispute its Americanness.
