I am completing my first Rome campaign with Invictus (just Invictus); I only found out later about FMO, but I was too far in. This is my first and only IR play.

I know Rome is rated VERY EASY.

How do these various methods rate in terms of challenge:

The Paradox game difficulty options on the faction selection?

The Invictus game rules that add chaotic majors?

Increased Difficulty sub mod - https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3072802558 ?

Adding FMO to Invictus?

Playing Terra Indomita (which includes FMO)?

So, what is your preferred challenge boost and why?

Thank you.

For me I do not need any mod but to start with a OPM (one province minor) to experience very hard difficulty even in vanilla

Same. And with invictus there are plenty of smaller tags in precarious situations with interesting missions trees also. A good example of this is Heraclea Pontica into Persia, which is difficult but pretty much barebones in vanilla, but actually has some content in invictus.

Well, part of my rational for choosing Rome is that I am familiar with Rome in RTW1+DM, RTW1+RSR, RTW1+EB1, MTW2+EB2, RTW2+DEI, and Attila+FotE+EUP ... FOG Empires ...

So, I wanted to get the feel the Rome campaign in this game and compare.

The TW overhauls are not bad campaign wise, but the hundreds of the same bloobing BAI map fight is too much. With sieging path finding battles being the worst.
