Hello, Survivors! Today we've released a small patch to fix some reported issues with Update 11. You game versions should be 1.11.2.7710 on PC and 1.11.2.118 on Xbox.


General
  • Fixed the overlay legend panel so that the colors shown there now match the colors shown in the colony itself.
  • Fixed an issue with the navigation on quest pop ups with a controller - now you can select other options besides the first one from certain pop ups, when playing with a controller.
  • Fixed an issue that allowed the quest to be triggered several times through the panel, which caused issues with saving and loading.
  • Fixed an issue that could cause resources being carried to a construction zone to disappear if a Specialist died while carrying them.
  • Fixed an issue that could cause the entire colony to become stuck if a building was destroyed right before it had finished a cycle of production.
Graphics
  • Improved the readability of building placement visuals to spot invalid placement more clearly as the blocked squares will have more clearer indication.

Gotta a ... update breaking bug.

I had a car near my starting village, a story "Moushtache" or something similar was there over the car. I wanted to send a specialist, but could not send anyone... and I could not get the car out of the space on the map. Bummer.
 
First, @AlexIsPlaying welcome to the forums!

Second, you did report the glitch with the blue cockroach in the upper right corner in game? You can also (have a dev tell you how to) import the affected save for the devs to examine.

Last, it's not update-breaking. Sounds to me like the check concerning whether a random spot is occupied or not failed.

The locations for quests are randomized using a form of RNG (Random Number Generation), and it stands to reason the random locations chosen must also, in programming lingo, pass checks ensuring, buildings, specialists, and vehicles do not occupy the spot chosen at random, otherwise the location must be moved, or "rerolled." Also, since you are new, I have no way of knowing the extent of what you know, so I just played it safe.

ok I just sent the "bug" with the bug ingame :)

If a dev wants to validate the bug, I have attached the savegame here.

Go to the worldmap, it's just up-left to the starting village.

In the meanwhile, I have abandon the quest, because I had no choice.

Heya! Thanks for the save and for the bug report through the game, both came through! And of course, welcome to the forums!

I will alert the programmers on this, they should have made checks for most things on the World Map (to ensure the quest locations don't spawn on top of other locations), but they might have forgotten about the vehicles in there when making the spawning system.

Unfortunately this would not have been something we could have fixed for your save specifically, so abandoning the quest really was your only option, but by reporting this you've ensured that we can make sure it doesn't happen to you or anyone else in the future, so thanks again for the report!
