Paradox launcher gets error(launching the game failed)

have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling the game?

Also is this the Steam, GoG or Windows store version of Stellaris? [that way we can give you more detailed instructions should the above not work]

Every time i try to start the game up it comes up as launching the game failed and ive tried borderless and no mods
That sounds like that game not starting, rather than a launcher issue. I assume running stelalris.exe directly also fails?

If so, Has the game ever run successfully on this computer? Or never?

IF IT USED TO RUN:
Please do a full **clean** re-install:

- move any valued save games elsewhere, and user_empire_designs.txt from /Documents/Paradox Interactive/Stellaris/ if you have made any custom empires or races.
- "uninstall" in Steam-Stellaris
- manually delete both the Steam/SteamApps/common/Stellaris AND Documents/Paradox/Stellaris folders
- re-install game in Steam, run a Steam Verify when done.
- add stellaris.exe to the exceptions list of your antivirus app; ESPECIALLY if you have Windows Defender, add it to the Ransomware "Apps Allowed Through" list.
- start the game with no mods active and test

In particular you need to make sure there are no files or folders left under either the Steam Stellaris or Documents Stellaris locations, before installing again.

IF NEVER:
Install ALL these Microsoft modules:

https://www.microsoft.com/en-au/download/details.aspx?id=8328
https://www.microsoft.com/en-au/download/details.aspx?id=13523
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=52685
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=8109
(run dxsetup.exe after extracting from this download)

Add stellaris.exe to the exceptions list of your antivirus app; ESPECIALLY if you have Windows Defender, add it to the Ransomware "Apps Allowed Through" list.

Also if you have FRAPS or the MSI Gaming App or Rivatuner installed, disable it as it clashes with this game.

If that doesn't help:
DXDIAG is a program you run from a command prompt or the Windows start menu 'run' dialog box (or 'search programs' in Windows 7 or later). After running it will open a window and start collecting info with a progress bar in the lower-left corner. When it completes click the 'save all information' button and save it to a file then attach that file here.

Please attach your Documents/Paradox/Stellaris/settings.txt and pdx_settings.txt .
From your Documents/Paradox/Stellaris/logs/ folder, attach system.log .

Нет помощи Not help. The game doesn't work

Does running stellaris.exe directly work, at least get you into the game?

Has the game ever run successfully on this computer? Or never?

What antivirus app do you use?

run successfully, NOD32
P.S. Before replacing the motherboard, RAM and processor, the game worked, but after replacement (upgrades) does not work. I had a processor before replacing Xeon e5450 3.0 ghz, a motherboard on a P45 chipset, LGA 775, dd2 8 gb 400 ghz.

I'm not familiar with that AV app but do make sure stellaris.exe is in its exceptions list.

Does HOI4 run okay?

It's common problem for Stellaris.
Try this:
Navigate to *\Steam\steamapps\common\Stellaris
Change dowser.exe properties, make it run as an Administrator. Just follow my screenshots)))
If problem still persists - add dowser.exe to your antivirus exclusion list

Place the attached file in the Steam folder for the game, where stellaris.exe is. That tells the game to write the settings.xt file and /logs/ folder right there, instead of under Documents.

Then exit Steam completely and run stellaris.exe from Windows Explorer. What happens? DO settings.txt and /logs/ get created there?
