Is there any way to roleplay the "fanatic egalitarian" fantasy in this game? :p i don't even know what that would look like or how to look it up, so here's me asking cause i assume people who post here have played.

Nope. You build up a colony, scavenge the world for supplies, make judgement calls from time to time, and try to withstand Catastrophes. That's about it. Its kind of a strategy city builder game, with flack from a recent update.

I am many things, and brutally honest is one of them. I could spout a thousand awesome things about this game, but ultimately you must be the one to make a call and buy it for yourself, see what it has to offer.

In keeping with brutal honesty, at the time of this post, the Steam discount for the game is gone, but not the Epic Games version. The Epic Mega Sale is even handing out 10 dollar coupons, so you can get it on the cheap if you so choose.

This game isn't really about roleplaying, it doesnt have much politics or decision making in it. I guess you could try to make your pops as happy as possible by placing a lot of decor items around them and give them the best food available and so on. But there isn't really anything like "do you want to build a slave society with decadent rulers or a communist utopia" like in Stellaris. Pleasing your pops is always the right decision and everyone is always equal.

(If you are looking for a apocalypse survival builder with politcal decisions in it, you might enjoy Frostpunk.)

So what you're saying is, I can waste resources on my commie roleplay if I want, the way I get 100-300 amenities per planet in stellaris even though that's way beyond what the game actually rewards you for

So you're saying I can make this roleplay work :p
