My game crash at launch. I am very annoyed with the state of the game and the launcher.

I took the opportunity to buy the last two dlc. The problem is that when I launch the game with steam it crashes at launch 9 times out of 10. Even without mods. So I tried the paradox launcher but it's even worse.

When I checked I could see that the paradox launcher did not register my purchase of the last two dlc. I also had problems with the launcher before I switched computers but I was hoping that things would get better after I reinstalled it on my new computer. Of course, I was wrong, I spent the last three hours trying to find a solution by consulting posts of people who have the same problem as me. All to no avail.

I'm getting extremely frustrated and angry that I can't play games I paid for because they crash all the time and because of a launcher that NEVER works.

This game is no longer supported under the Paradox launcher in standalone mode.


There is no known issue that means it runs 1/10 times from Steam - usually either every time or not at al!

Right click on ck3.exe , properties, compatibility. Tick "disable fullScreen optimisations" untick every other box in that dialog, Apply and exit.
Then in the launcher Game Settings menu, select fullScreen display mode, Vsync off, refresh rate 60.

DXDIAG is a program you run from the Windows search box on the task bar. After running it will open a window and start collecting info with a progress bar in the lower-left corner. When it completes click the 'save all information' button and save it to a file then attach that file here.

Please attach here your Documents/Paradox Interactive/CK3/pdx_settings.txt .
From your Documents/Paradox Interactive/CK3/logs/ folder, attach here system.log , error.log
