Currently there is a bit of guesswork involved for some mechanics when selecting which zone / building to place. For example, although we can see how much Noise Pollution various buildings produce with the Noise Pollution view, we don't really know which buildings / zones are more sensitive to Noise Pollution. Obviously, Regular Industry zones must not be very badly affected by it, since they generate it themselves, but Residential zones probably dislike it very much. What about an Elementary School? Or an Office Building? Do they dislike Noise Pollution more or less than a Low-Density Residential zone?

So, in order to reduce the amount of guessing we are doing in the game, it would be great to provide more of this information to the player. It does not have to be exact figures & numbers, but even something as simple as "Greatly affected by Noise Pollution," "Mildly affected by Noise Pollution," "slightly Affected by Noise Pollution," would allow us to make educated guesses / informed decisions, and therefore more meaningful choices.

I believe the following information would be helpful to the player if displayed when viewing or placing zones / buildings, or perhaps just when looking at the combined amount for a District:

  • Amount of Water Consumed / Sewerage Produced
  • Amount of Electricity (Power) Consumed
  • Amount of Tax Income generated
  • How badly Noise/Ground Pollution affects it
  • How much it increases/decreases surrounding Land Value
  • How greatly it is affected by having Services available
Again, it does not necessarily need to show a particular number or value, but just something like Low, Medium, High would be great. I like how in-game we are given some of this kind of information when placing the Specialised Industrial Zones (using Low, Medium, High instead of numbers), but was disappointed that this method was not also used for all the other zones / buildings.
