I absolutely love the decisions that PDX has inserted into the game so far, such as The Sicilian Sulphur Trade, or Expand the Campus Martius.
Decisions tied to territories make those territories unique, and I can't get enough of that historical/geographic context.
Next up are missions. They're too "big". For example, First Provincia could be broken down into 3 smaller, but more detailed missions: Corsica, Sardinia, and Sicily.
If I come up against a "brick wall" in any given current mission, against an adversary much more powerful than myself, I cannot move on to another mission without aborting the current one.
If the missions are smaller, I have a better chance of finishing it, picking up a new missions somewhere else on the map, and coming back to that geographical area after circumstances have changed.
As I usually play as Rome, I also have an issue with the poor design of the Punic Rivals mission. Carthage goes expansion crazy in Spain, eating up territory everywhere. It forces me to use "gamey" measures (Such as immediately selling captured territory to Hispanian states) in order to complete this mission without also disqualifying myself from obtaining the Hispanian Ambitions mission. Because if I take too much territory from Carthage, I get shut out of the next mission. It would help if the Carthage AI used a planned, orderly expansion plan. As it stands right now, Carthage is almost constantly DWing on Spanish states, and by the time I am ready to tackle them, they have already expanded way beyond their historical limits, and Carthaginian territory in Spain looks like a rack of moose antlers, extending all the way up into the northwest.
Another suggestion: All missions should be displayed in the mission tab, with their prerequisites listed. The ones I am not qualified to take yet should be greyed out.
