I'm now in my second GC (haven't stopped playing since I got EU) and am playing as Turkey.

By scanning the leader files, it appears that I should be getting Bayezid and Suleiman as military leaders, but all I get with the Monarch Crown is an ordinary general (e.g., Ibrahim).

Am I misunderstanding the role of monarchs on the field of battle?

Thanks. I know this already. Unless I am mistaken, Bayezid II should be one of my Turkish generals. Instead, filthy commoner Ibrahim is running around Anatolia with a Crown on his head. (Bloody usurper).

P.S.: This is the most helpful game forum online. But you regulars knew that already.

I've wondered about that. Are those Monarch leaders supposed to represent your Monarch that's sitting on the thrown? Cause I've had more than a few show up, but were different than the stated monarch on the screen that shows VP and characteristics.

Sometimes you get future monarchs (who will become leader of your country, but aren't yet) as military leaders (because they were notable commanders before they became king).

Porcius,
Are you certain that you didn't somehow miss Bayezid's appearance? You can check the leaders' page in the archives to see a list of them all.

I checked the list and Bayezid made no appearance, nor did Selim nor Suleiman. It's not a big deal, because I get a lot of good generals, but I did expect Suleiman to lead my siege of Venice - he has a siege value.

Could I be missing something?
