[Pureon]

Interesting Histories adds short historical introductions to 29+ nations at Imperator Rome’s start date. These include new visuals showing what life could have looked like for each featured nation on 1st October 304 BCE.

Featured countries: Athens, Arados, Armenia, Bactria, Boi, Bosporan Kingdom, Brigantia, Byblos, Byzantion, Caledonia, Empuries, Hemeroskopeion, Heraclea Pontica, Icenia, Judea, Knossos, Kush, Manapia, Massilia, Maurya, Menesthei, Mosylon, Parthia, Phasis, Rhodes, Sidon, Sparta, Syracusae, and Umbria.

Events have not been added to popular nations that already have additional flavour, such as Rome or Carthage. If people like this, I may add more histories.

Compatibility:
- This mod does not overwrite any vanilla files.
- Only runs once at the start = No performance impact.
- Should work with all other mods.
- Not achievement compatible.
- Should work in multiplayer.
- Full English localisation. Partial German.

The new visuals are all modifications of Imperator Rome’s visuals by Paradox Interactive.

Have fixed a few typos, updated some illustrations, and added a new visual for Mosylon on the coast of East Africa.

Added new starting events for the Icenia tribe, home of the warrior queen Boudicca, and for the Pyramid building kingdom of Kush. Also includes German translations by Steam user Aenrikr for the 27 original nations. Update should be fully save compatible.

Those are some really well done intro images!

I like what you have done. It is always good to have some more historical context/flavour. Just one suggestion I have is to create more narrative introductions. Right now they are very factual, I find it more immersive when told from the perspective of the people you are supposed to play as.

I am not a great writer, and it is far from perfect or even great, but this is somethig I made for Carthage:


Having such more narrative intro's would really make this one of my favourite mods, and make me want to try out a lot of different countries.

Three new events:
1) The city-state of Thebes, still rebuilding after its destruction by Alexander the Great.
2) Italic Veneto, renowned for breeding fast alpine horses.
3) The dynastic Tamil nation of Pandya in southern India.

Also changed a few existing events to have more narrative introductions.
