The Ibero-Byzantine Project
A fusion of my old Iberian Project and Byzantine Project mods, the Ibero-Byzantine Project is a small mod focused on both the Iberian Peninsula and the Byzantine Empire, containing the features of both its parent mods. The two were fused in order to deal with compatibility issues, and to make updating both mods an easier task.

*The Empire of Hispania is now a title created through a special decision, which also grants you the trait "Imperator totius Hispaniae" when enacted. This trait works exactly like the Augustus trait, in that if you lose the empire, you lose the trait. Enacting this decision, of course, damages your relationship with the Pope, the Roman Emperor in Constantinople, and the Holy Roman Emperor.

*Portuguese holders of the Kingdom of Portugal can now create the Kingdom of the Algarve through a decision (which automatically places the Duchy of Algarve as de jure territory of the new kingdom), provided they completely control the region.

*Christian holders of the Kingdom of Castile who completely control the Duchy of Toledo can now create the Kingdom of Toledo through a decision which automatically places the duchy as de jure territory of the new kingdom.

*Castilian, Portuguese, Basque, and Catalan cultural localisation for titles and ranks.

*Government flavour for Castilian and Portuguese king and emperor-ranked rulers.

*The Kingdom of the Visigoths and its rulers are added to the game's history. The title can also be created by Visigothic Kings of Asturias.

*Suebi rulers included in the history of the Kingdom of Galicia.

*The Arian heresy (take note that it's quite lacklustre, as it has not yet been fully developed)

The purpose of the "Byzantine half" of this mod is to remove the Latin flavour from the Byzantine Empire and the restored Roman Empire. For some reason, Paradox seems to think that by restoring the Roman Empire, the Romans (Greeks) would suddenly drop centuries of cultural progress and start to embrace the trappings of a dead and obsolete Latin culture.

As such, the "Latin-ness" of the Roman Empire is now restricted to a new title created when you enact the Roman Renaissance decision, which remains mostly unchanged by this mod (other than the fact that only a lunatic can do it).

*Removal of the Latin-based features of the Legacy of Rome expansion, restricting these to a post-Roman Renaissance empire.

*New "Autokrator" trait for the the ruler of either the Byzantine Empire or the restored Roman Empire. The Augustus trait is now restricted to a Latin-cultured Roman Empire (e_roman_empire_lat), and it serves as the Latin counterpart of the Autokrator trait.

*Co-Emperor system - the Byzantine Emperor can now nominate at least three co-emperors. Each co-emperor is granted both a voting power boost, and a voting opinion boost. The co-emperor (and their spouses) will also wear emperor-rank clothes.

*Titled Pentarchs - the other four patriarchs of the Pentarchy will be automatically granted a king-level title co-responding to their respective Patriarchate. Due to technical reasons, only the Patriarchate of Rome has a title history, which is transfered from the Papacy the moment "Patriarchate of Rome" event is fired.

*Fourteen new minor titles for the Byzantine and the Roman Empire, six of these restricted to eunuchs.

*New decision to employ a eunuch.

Q: Where's the Order of Avis from the original Iberian Project mod?
A: The Order of Avis has been temporarily removed. It will be restored to the most after I flesh it out.

Q: Why is the "Create Title" button for Hispania is greyed out?
A: The Empire of Hispania can now only be created through a special decision in the Intrigue menu.

Q: Why is the Roman Empire's flag the same as the Byzantine Empire?
A: The "restored" Roman Empire now keeps e_byzantium's flag, as the one that came with the Legacy of Rome is too Latin-centric. Instead, that one is used for a post-Roman Renaissance empire title that is created when that decision is enacted.

Q: Where's the Roman Renaissance decision?
A: Considering what this decision is supposed to represent, it is now only available to characters with the Lunatic trait.

Q: Why can't I move my capital to Rome?
A: Because that decision has been restricted to the mod's e_roman_empire_latin title, created when you enact the Roman Renaissance decision.

Q: Can I make a compatibility sub-mod for [insert mod name here]?
A: Sure!

Q: Can I use this mod with Random World or the EU4 Exporter?
A: No, as it is not optimized it to work with those features of CK2 (and it likely never will).

Q: Can I include this in my mod?
A: In principle yes, but send me a PM first. And remember to give credit where it's due.

The mod is compatible with the 3.3.2 version of Crusader Kings II.

Many thanks to Korba for the Icon Templates!

Regarding the Kingdom of the Visigoths: would it be possible to make the title playable by making it a "formable" kingdom? Specifically, if a Christian Visigothic character were to reconquer Iberia from the Muslims, they could declare the re-establishment of the old Visigothic kingdom, creating the title and making it de jure.

On it!

Version 1.1 release and changelog
Version 1.1 has been released.

Version 1.1:

*The Kingdom of the Visigoths can now be created by any Christian Visigothic King of Asturias, provided they also control certain parts of the Iberian Peninsula, and that neither Castile nor León are active titles.

*The ruler who enacts the "Proclaim the Empire of Hispania" decision also gets the new "Imperial Blood of [This.GetFirstName]" bloodline.

Version 1.2 release and changelog
Version 1.2.0 has been released

Version 1.2.0:

*Co-Emperor system (somewhat) - The Byzantine Emperor can now nominate at least three co-emperors.

Due to technical reasons, only the Patriarchate of Rome has a title history, which is transferred from the Papacy the moment the "Patriarchate of Rome" event is fired.

*The new Byzantine honorifics added by this mod now have succession voting power.

*Some holdings of Constantinople (c_byzantion) have been renamed.

*Several buildings have been added to Constantinople and its holdings. At the moment, they have no stats and are only cosmetic.

*Saint Andrew the Apostle is no longer Scottish.

Second that! It would be nice to have it as a submod like your original Iberian project. There is another HIP Byzantine flavour submod, but none for Iberia aside from yours, and who doesn't want to be Imperator Totus Hispaniae?
