Interesting... what was wrong with aging, was it not working properly?

in theory, it looked like a nice feature, since it restrict the size of armys to more realistic levels
 
They haven't figured how it works if I recall correctly and they also had a hard time balancing their initial design that worked fine and stoppped being fine when the port to aod was made due to this ageing factor.

It is quite nice feature on its own but since AFAIK real cap when your manpower growth vis equal to aging is quite impossible to figure out without spending too much time for every country\province individually it can make things quite complicated, as Hister noted.
 
CORE had already worked out a mechanism for more or less realistic manpower growth for CORE 0.41 for ARM. When we went over to AoD, manpower growth was negative with aging turned on. Rather than reworke the whole model, we turned aging off.
