Keeping those uppty vassals in their place

I notice the AI loves to leave my vassalage (which is annoying because warning of cancelled vassalages is not enabled by default), even when we have high relations and I have good stability.
What gives? EU3 vassals are decently compliant, but FTG vassals, no matter how big or small, seem to be just itching to bugger out. That compromises my long-term plans where I want some long-term vassals as buffers.

Meanwhile, Bosnia AI seems happy to be a vassal to Hungary forever. Weird.

If you grew big did you have a lot of Badboy points?

Edit: Did you perhaps force-vassalize them and they broke the vassalage when the truce expired?

You write now that they leave your alliance, but in the first post that they leave your vassalage. Do you mean both?
