We generally don't allow these threads because the answer from the general crowd is "maybe" and the moderators can't really answer it because we often know as much as the rest of the crowd, but since we're moderators whatever we say is automatically construed as an official response (see also why most of us avoid posting in discussions trying to guess what sorts of features will be included).
Moreover, these sorts of threads quickly become a magnet for a toxic sort who just want another place to post abuse against the devs.
