I have been invited to the competitive Roleplay multiplayer game with Invictus v1.3 Ashoka for Imperator 2.0.3 (Marius). This AAR will be a short view of players stats with charts of their progression taken every session end. The objective is to have fun while playing a MP game using all the content that Invictus provides.
The player list is the following:
I will post the charts and my own point of view. And I hope that the participants will add their own experience in this thread to share with you if they feel inclined to.
Session 1: the beginnings
This session has seen players start their own unique missions in this v1.3 of invictus. At the end of the session the player map mode is looking like this:
The following chart shows all player nations power calculated using how many pops, manpower, military traditions, navies, etc...
There are a lot of differences between players as Invictus is not a mod that is designed for equal starting conditions for all nations. For example, Maurya starts in a very strong position with many pops and cities. However, V1.3 Ashoka has many surprises for this country.
The other big nations are Thrace, Persis and Bactria. The last two have had their shares of wars with Seleukid to get independent. While Thrace has got the best of the Diadochis wars at the start of the game.
The rest of players had a much smaller starting nation and they had wars to expand while following their own unique missions trees. For example, in my case Scythia has the steppe horde government after finishing their own tree and became Royal Scythia.
The alliances at this stage are the following:
The size of each nation correspond to their power. Of course, the alliances are to survive early game but the game masters will shape how they evolve in the future.
If we look at the morale of troops and their discipline value we can see Sparta at top morale with his heritages but a surprisingly strongly disciplined Kush and Persis:
On max manpower, there is Massilia with a very good efficiency of max manpower / POP due to having 3 cities out of 4 territories and then Sparta and Garamantia making the best of their POPs for max manpower. Of course Maurya with its huge population shows the biggest max manpower value:
On the maritime side, there has not been yet naval battles, but being in the Mediterranean it is sure that naval supremacy will have a lot of importance in a MP game. For now the most invested players are Sicily and Sparta. Maurya is too far a way to matter in the Med but it has naval supremacy on the Indian sea:
Regarding population, we can see again that Massilia has the biggest concentration of POPs due to having only four territories, but Maurya is only second with the incredible density of POPs existing in India. The players located in other parts of the World have a similar ratio of 8 POPs/territory except for the Kush, Scythia and Garamantia players that have around 5-6 POPs/territory. The total amount of POPs that Maurya has compared to the other players is clearly visible in this chart:
On the income side of things, we have Sparta leading the pack with the most commerce out per territory, followed by Thrace, Sicily and Garamantia. Then far away all the other players that sport a meager 0.05 commerce income per territory. The top earner is Maurya due to its huge taxes. Thrace is the commercial powerhouse:
If we look at the distribution of POPs of each nation and their civ level, we can see huge differences between the most civilized nation on average, Sparta, and the least civilized, Royal Scythia. The first being in Hellas while the second being a tribe. Also we can observe the high tribesmen percentage of the two tribes of Garamantia and Royal Scythia compared to all other nations. Strangely enough, Sicily has got a large portion of tribesmen:
Research wise, there are a lot of differences between players. The type of government and the starting position is defining these differences now, but as the campaign progresses we will see which players are taking seriously those science/philosophy classes. Now Sparta is on top while the tribes are fairly down on research efficiency. Persis is also down, due to temporary stability and unrest issues:
Finally, the efficiency chart is testimony of how players manage to improve the base ratios on research, manpower, taxes and commerce for their nations. The most efficient nation is Massilia, followed by Sparta and Garamantia, kudos to all of them!
Next week hopefully we will have our game masters to tell new missions to the players that I will share with you and see how the multiplayer campaign evolves with the help of all these charts.
The map with all the nations at the end of this session:
