I recently got a USB flash drive and decided to try putting CK2 on there. I don't want to risk losing my data so I copy and pasted the folders there. However, when I went to run the game via CK2game, it still showed my DLC and Mods in the launcher and when I went to save the game, it saved to my computer instead of my Hard Drive then I changed the folders to the correct format and it still won't work. Now I'm worried it won't work once I use it on another computer. How do I get it to save to the folder on the Hard Drive and not on the computer when the hard drive is plugged in?

For saves, settings files and mods the game uses your Windows User Documents folder by default. That is unaffected by where you install the game.

You can change that by use of particular text file, BUT that would mean that USB would always have to be plugged in, and the same drive letter, when you played that game.

Why not use Steam Cloud saves instead?
