Hatay existed from
September 7 1938 to
June 29 1939, which means it
shouldn’t exist in either startdate. But by
August 15 1939 it was already
part of Turkey.
Here’s a possible solution:
Step 1. Implement
more states in Syria as proposed by here,
including Hatay.
Step 2. when
Turkey gets an
own Focus Tree, add a sub-branch with 2 or 3 Foci.
- First focus: Demand autonomy for Hatay. Doing this will give the owner of Hatay state (France historically, but could be anyone if an early war happens or Turkey chooses the focus much later) an Ultimatum. If they decline, Turkey gets a Wargoal and an event allowing them to declare war.
- Possible middle focus: add a core and a Guarantee on Hatay and (might be skipped if there are many other Foci. If skipped, adding the core would be part of the next focus)
- Last Focus: Annex Hatay. Would be almost the same as the German Anschluss Focus.
In the 1939 Scenario,
Turkey would start with
that branch completed and own Hatay.
Turkey would have an (in-game)
reason to
wait a bit until annexing Hatay: let them complete the
Generic focus tree branches adding
IC and infrastructure.
This would allow
recreating the historical events quite faithfully if all sides follow the
historical path, OR have the potential to cause a
war in the Middle East between
France and
Turkey.
