e -> like the e in bet but more the tongue is higher, like the first part of the a in Face
g -> like the g in guy
i-> like the i in kit
j -> like y in yes
o-> like ou in Thought but more closed
q-> like kv
r-> that one is hard use your finest imitation of the german accent for it
u->like the oo in food but short
v-> like F
w-> like V
z-> like ts
ä-> something between the german A and E
ö-> something between the german O and E
ü-> something between the german U and E
sch- like sh
ch-> thats hard... after A,O,U its like the ch in the scottish Loch in other places its something between an S and sh with the tongue to the roof

I found this map to lead to almost acceptable results. At least as far as modern states/capitals in Germany go :)
