I have just got a new Macbook Pro 16" with the M1 chip, fully updated. I downloaded Crusader Kings 3 and when I click play from the steam launcher, it processes a bit and then just doens't launch. There's no error message or anything.

- I already uninstalled / reinstalled - didn't work
- the game is fully updated from steam and has the latest patch
- i validated the integrity of the local game files. no issues / all clear
- I think it has to do with the paradox launcher because I can load other games fine, but all my other paradox games (hearts of iron iv, stellaris) do not launch either. So the paradox launcher is not working for some reason

What is the issue and why would it not work? It's a completely new Macbook without any saves or anything..

FYI this game (indeed any of our games) is not officially supported on M1 hardware, Intel/AMD CPUs only.

That said, this game will usually at least run, if slowly.

You blame the launcher, but that rarely if ever prevents actual games from working. What happens if you run them from ck3.app, hoi4.app , stellaris.app directly in Finder?
