2 years into my first game as Sparta the game freezes for up to 30 seconds every day. CPU usage peaks to 100%, does not seem to be an issue at the beginning av a campaign, but something changes 2 years into the game (guessing a lot of nations are at war and such, a lot a battles to simulate?).

I have lowered the graphics setting to absolute lowest, does virtually nothing as it seems to be the CPU tanking.

I just assume that this game is developed for 64-bit, because of the poor performance of Stellaris late game, which is 32-bit.

Specs:
GTX 1070TI, ver 430.39, 1440p
i7 3770k ~3.5Ghz
32 GB RAM
Win 10

The CPU is 5 years old, but well above the min. requirements.
