While we're talking about improvements to elections etc, what's everyone's thoughts on changing the head of state of England from the King to the Prime Minister?

IRL, the UK's monarch is the head of state and the prime minister is the head of government. Why would you want to change HoI3 to be out of touch with this reality?

Sorry I meant head of Govt. In all other Commonwealth countries you play as the Prime Minister, except for England. In reality, the Prime Minister was seen to be 'running the show' and not the King. There's heaps in the history files that shows this - Churchill features heavily, yet who knows what King George did?

very happy with what i have been seeing in these dev diaries so far (you guys do read what we have to say..even if some are dumb or not feasible at this time)

on the question of bombers (or any enemy aircraft) flying into enemy territory, my suggestion is they lose org or mor per province they fly over; so the further they go into a enemy country they lower their org or mor would be and the easier it is for AAA or fighters to repel them would be. This would best "simulate" the effects of fatigue from being on guard, shot at from AAAs and harassed for the whole trip. (would justify why night bombing was so desired over day light plus add the the fact that escorts couldn't make the trip also (not only the range of the plane but they loose so much org or mor they be ineffective).make this a modifier that can be modded so you can effect it with a tech like "fighter escort role" and this loose would be reduced by the tech, or night bombing would have a lower effect....thats my two cents.

for intelligence I like to see combat modifiers, so the more you know about your enemy the more of a combat bonus you get (right now i never send my spies to check on my enemies military strength, doesn't effect combat, so waste of time and spies) as stated in "Art of War!" and many other military and strategic books "Know thy Enemy!" So it would then play a big part, england would spy the hell out of German naval military to get a combat modifier for hunting down subs and ships. (also make this a malus also the less you know about your enemy the more of a penalty you will receive in combat against them).....but then again this may be better suited for when you can have a number of spies doing different missions on a country.

in my view spying, diplomacy and trade/economy are the weak points of the game at this time. but it looks like you already know this and are make head way in these areas

I assume your problem is that the game calls the player King in a Constitutional Monarchy. Yes, you are right, it should call the player Prime Minister :)

Now I understand what you meant, Natvander. I'd support this change.

Hmmm, ministers....:)

Developers: If I only have a limited investment in intelligence/espionage and/or very few spies, will I only see a few ministers, or no minister at all?

Here:
It's in the intelligence view, but you don’t need spies to find out this information as it wasn’t exactly hard to get your hands on.

whilst on the subject of spies can we finally please have the information they provide more varied? Ie make a bigger chance of getting the WRONG information about what the enemy has - like instead of tanks tell them they are mot, instead of mountain tell them they are plain inf etc (esp when u hover your mouse over units on the main map) + number and other such things about ic/economy etc etc...

not sure what I think about this. perhaps as a domestic mission to spread incorrect information. I dont think it feels right that your own spies dig up bad information. they can not find stuff out, but to get it wrong sounds a bit meh unless someone is feeding them bad intel.

perhaps as a future expansion idea or something. I'd like it tied in a lot with visible stuff on the map. could be a lot of fun in multiplayer

But they are already doing this! Or at least on the Intelligence tab, the info is very unreliable... If you delegate the info gathered in the Intel tab to the map, it would give you plenty of disinformation :D

unless I completely forgot how I did it it never actually tells you the wrong type on a unit or an incorrect position, it is only shown as unknown. sizes etc are given incorrect though. also its not really shown on map, just affect detection etc

You are probably right about type and position, I was refering to unreliable information in general.

Dummy Counters. I use them all time in games like Command Decision. (WWII Miniatures game)

Thinking about this a bit more, you could simply assume that your agents are spreading misinformation by default. Or tie it to Counterespionage for example. You don't really need a separate mission for this.

totally, but making it an active choice for the player where they have to think about which to pick for certain situations might be more fun (especially in MP). that way you can make the effect stronger too since you trade away something else.

Good point. IMO this would be a domestic spy mission, since you are spreading false info about your country to the enemy. And you just dropped a domestic spy mission... Just sayin' ;)

These are fine additions!
