Well done! Also...

Take the Amulet of Kings, with the blessing of the Divines, and myself.

That confirms certain theological ideas that I'm sure the Altmer wouldn't be too happy about.

History of the Valomar Empire of Tamriel

Published in 234th year of the third era

Prince Mathies returned to his father with a great gift
With the Amulet of Kings in his posession, Eorlund could finally declare himself Emperor.
But he chose not to do it, not yet.

Chapter IX: The Empire

13642613905_fb9a6c56e7_o.png

Eorlund and his son left the Imperial City for High Rock.
The High King decided that he needed to strengthen his standing in the Breton land, this would be achieved by a quick conquest of the Kingdom of Wayrest.

13642613395_a4653825ac_o.png

Prince Mathies reached maturity while fighting in High Rock, this was only appropriate, since he was also born in a battlefield.

13642632543_0b51262eee_o.png

However, the princes adventure in Sancre Tor left him wanting for more, more adventures and quests.
This was the last opportunity for the prince, since his father was getting older and soon Mathies would have to take the throne.

13642610355_d1b44c20e6_o.png

But before the Prince left for his adventure, he participated to the Siege of the Adamantine Tower, the oldest structure in Tamriel, and of great importance to the Valomar claims.

Authors note: The Adamantine Tower, is believed to be the oldest building in Tamriel, if not the entirety of Nirn.
It is believed to have been built by the Aedra soon after the creation of Mundus, around ME 2500. The structure is located on the Isle of Balfiera.

13642941434_efffe41aa8_o.png

Adamantine Tower was taken, but the Dragonborn suffered a fatal wound in the final skirmish and died soon after the battle.
Memorials were erected to the site of the battle, as well as to the Imperial City.

13642629663_565c9ce98a_o.jpg

The war ended soon after that battle, Eorlund travelled back to the capital.
In there he heard the news of a large Khajit rebellion against the Nibenean rule.
This could be it, Humiliating Nibenay and conquering few more provinces could finally fulfill the dream of the Valomar Dynasty.

13642938924_88b4f449a8_o.png

As soon as Elsweyr heard of the High Kings declaration of war, many Khajits came to Cyrodiil and enlisted to the High Kings armies,
they fought as an independent unit, commanded by their own officiers.
They fought very well, and the High King personally decorated many Khajits during the campaign.

13642937924_2043661538_o.png

Eorlunds armies had already left for Nibenay, and the High king himself was leaving too when suddenly his son returned,
The Prince was away for four years, but now he was back, and ready to lead the armies with his father.
Mathies left as a boy, but returned as a man,

Authors note: Even today, no one knows exactly what Mathies did during those four years, some stories have surfaced,
claiming that the prince was seen in Morrowind and Black Marsh, but nothing more can be proven.

13642936574_afeea05eb6_o.png

With his son, the High King led his armies to victory over the Nibeneans.
The enemy had no choice, but to submit to the terms of the High King.
All the lands north of the Silverfish river were given to Skyrim, alongside the City of Bravil and all the surrounding lands.

Everything was ready!

The High King was coronated for a second time at the Temple of the One.
Relatively simple seremony, compared to his earlier one when he became the King of Cyrodiil.
The temple was almost empty, the High Priest and eight other priests, representing the Eight Divines, performed the anointment and blessings.
Only guests were the High Chancellor of the Elder Council, members of the High Kings own council and of course his children and grandchildren.
At this coronation, Eorlund took a new regnal name: Talos
And so was known as "Emperor Talos of Tamriel"

13643146984_b62c218a50_c.jpg

And so the Empire of Tamriel was declared!
Armies of High Rock, Skyrim and Cyrodiil were united to form the Imperial Legions.
The Dragon Akatosh, God of Time, the chief deity of the Divines and the god defender of the Empires of man, was taken as the official symbol of the Tamrielic Empire of the Valomars.

13642600175_22d0ea19fd_o.png

As his first act as the Emperor, Talos began the conquest of Hammerfell in an attempt to unite all men under the imperial banners, before marching against the Mer (elves).

Following his coronation in 2E 662, and the lighting of the Dragonfires, Talos Valomar declares an end to the second era, and thus, the beginning of the Third Era (3E 0).
This is the official end of the Interregnum.

Huzzah! The empire is here!

The next few years Talos spent in Hammerfell, fighting the Redguards.
He felt his age slowing him down, and Prince Mathies mostly led the army.
End was near.

Chapter X: Eight or Nine?

13954149824_704416c2c3_o.png

The conquests were going smoothly, the great Alik'r desert proved to be a difficult obstacle, but the Imperial Legion went trough it nonetheless.

13930593432_3c67fc982b_o.jpg

Dragontail mountains were another obstacle, but the Nordic soldiers in the Legions were accustomed to mountain conditions, and used their axes fiercely.
There was only a little bit of fight left in the Redguards, and the mountains were soon in the Empires control.

13930581461_39aa28a378_o.png

Mountain conditions proved too hard for His Imperial Majesty, who insisted in coming with the army, despite his sons objections.

13953686375_aa061b08c5_o.png

Terrible news arrived to the army after their victory at the mountains, the Emperors middle child, princess Danica died after suffering from a terrible disease known as "stomach rot"

13930591036_70118ef9db_o.jpg

Final push for Hammerfell began with the war against King Zhen.
One Final Effort is all that Remained, but the Divines had another plan...

13930578931_aeb438950a_o.png

On a hot morning in the city of Alik'r, Talos Valomar breathed for a last time, his son and heir, Mathies, held his hand at the final moments.
Everyone in his Legions, Nords, Imperials, Bretons and Redguard fell to their knees and bowed when the death of the Emperor was announced.

13930577741_774d7133ce_o.png

With the death of Talos, his son and follower, Emperor Mathies began to proclaim his fathers ascension to godhood, the priests following his army supported this,
Skyrim was one province that accepted this "Ninth Divine", Cyrodiil was divided.

13930576631_ceb3d3a36f_o.png

Melans of Kvatch led a group of nobles demanding the Emperor to abandon this "heresy" and because the Legion was still in Hammerfell, this was a dangerous situation.

13954142314_3e1ac387a2_o.png

And so, the seeds of dissent blossomed to full flower...

13930586016_39a1213569_o.jpg

Former enemy, King Zhen of Sentinel swore allegiance to the Empire, he even converted to the Nine Divines, abandoning his native pantheon.
From this point forwards, the Redguard would continue to serve the Empire with great honour.

13954140464_e06ba42804_o.jpg

Skyrim alone stood united behind the Emperor, their High King, and were very important source of troops during the civil war.
This was never forgotten by Mathies, or any Emperor afterwards.

13954139494_afaa4ed2c1_o.png

Battles against the rebels were being fought on all sides of the realm, Emperor Mathies led the troops in Cyrodiil itself and other generals fought in Hammerfell and High Rock.

13953749713_5315827c07_o.jpg

High Rock was the first province to be clear of rebels, Hammerfell followed shortly afterwards.

13930581796_85c609a939_o.jpg

Emperor led the second siege of Kvatch, and captured the city, bringing an end to the rebellion.
Mathies returned to the Imperial City in triumph.

13953675595_33544c12ca_o.jpg

Empire of Tamriel stood united once again, Mathies was finally able to have a proper coronation, some dissidents still existed in all three provinces, Nibenay biggest of all.
But still this was a time of celebration, the Empire survived to fight another day.

13953674395_4bc794c64a_o.png

Death and ascension of Eorlund "Talos" Valomar ended the first line of the family, he was the last Valomar to be burried into Whiterun, every Emperor and Empress after him was burried to the Imperial City.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This story is rapidly approaching its end, i do not intend to continue until all of Tamriel is united.
One or two chapters will follow, then the epilogue.

Interesting development.

Praise Talos!

The Imperial campaign in Hammerfell was later named "The pacification of the Redguards", while it was true that they have not rebelled since those days, their spirit of independence has not died.

Chapter XI: Desert wars

14120337361_e2a9318fed_o.png

Troughout the reign of Tamriels second Valomar emperor different kinds of heresies were spreading in the lands,
most dangerous where those who refused to accept the Ninth Divine Talos,
these heretics were centered in Cyrodiil, and Mathies founded the Imperial Inquisition to combat these misguided souls. (Nobody ever expects them.)

14120336811_a1bd25384c_o.png

These heretics would do everything to see the holy dynasty of the Valomars destroyed, thankfully the efficient Imperial authorities always foil every attempt.

13936981279_35dab0173f_o.png

Despite the agitating rebels in the countryside the Empire was growing prosperous, it was partially paid by the blood that flooded the constantly expanding Imperial borderslands.

13937017730_d96bfa367f_o.png

The merchants of Nibenay tried to benefit from the prosperous Empire, they seeked to dominate the trade in the Imperial City, this was to be remedied by war.

13936980439_2aab1e41a2_o.jpg

The power of the merchants was far too great, only a monarch should hold such power, not any "council".

13937008978_a08af94295_o.jpg

Imperial Legions pursued the Nibenean army into the occupied Elsweyr, wich was in brink of a rebellion.

13936978969_9303e69086_o.png

The battle of Darkhor proved to be the catalyst that the Khajit needed to start the fight for their freedom.
Nibenean army was totally destroyed.

14123644405_3d594eb5a2_o.jpg

Khajits, led by a charismatic leader named M`dirr M`barim-dar declared independence from Nibenay,
at this point there was very little the Nibenayans could do about it.
Shortly after these events, the war ended,
Nibenay was forced to relinquish their claim on Elsweyr, furthermore their merchants were expulsed from the Imperial city and the Niben bay.

14100466796_5394c6663b_o.png

Back at the Imperial City, Mathies met with the Redguard nobility and they agreed to declare Hammerfell united once more, however this was only true in paper.

14123956644_c5a5821ec5_o.jpg

Some areas in southern Hammerfell continued to resist the Empire, totally unacceptable.
This was the beginning of the "Desert wars", wich lasted for over twelve years, one of the longest conflicts in the history of the Valomar empire.

14143699163_4ec0e3e76d_o.jpg

Meanwhile in Elsweyr, Emperor Mathies had a friend amongst the cats,
Ra`Mhirr Dro`shassa was working to get his people on the side of the Empire, he had already aquired the first territory in his homeland for the Emprie.

14120615842_7322b1edfb_o.png

Empress Annia followed her husbands army, and one day on the field, it was announced that she was pregnant!

13936975109_f35ff7e9e9_o.png

Perhaps fueled by the birth his future heir, the Emperor kept winning battle after battle, war after war.

14143697483_45b122a305_o.png

Birth of an imperial child gave hope for every faithful of the empire.
She was to be the shining beacon of light, and the first reigning Empress since the days of Saint Alessia.

14120329571_f94053f66d_o.jpg

The pacification of Hammerfell finally ended after ten years of war, however a new rebellion rose in the border between Hammerfel and High Rock.
These rebels were mainly minor lords in the Empire, and they had no large armies, despite this the war lasted for two years.

14123639575_38d5d2b367_o.png

Divines blessed the Imperial couple with another daughter during the rebellion, she was three years younger than the crown princess.

14123638885_4a7d1264c2_o.png

Rebellion was foiled, and the Empire was ready for new challenges,
there is still a lot to do before this human empire can claim entire Tamriel.

Talos with us!

Hooray, an update!

Aaaah, there's the Empire we all know and love, quelling rebellions here and there. Meanwhile, Nibenay got M'Derped. Tee hee.
