how about the event coders start brainstorming some ideas eh thats what this thread is about
European Iron Curtain Events events 1945 to 1955
Germany
A Question. How will Germany be handled in 1945? Is it a seperate state or will it be represented by the 4 Zones controlled by the respective powers?
If it is handled the latter way I would propose the following events:
1946 Communal Election Events in the 4 zones.
US,GB,FRA will let the elections go by fairly and democratic
SU will have the option to either influence the outcome (action_a) or to let it be democratic (action_b)
If they chose action_a an event will fire saying that the KP only got 20% and that you now could force the Social Democrats to merge with the KP into the SED (action_a) or to accept the outcome (action_b). If they took action_b in the first event they wont have the option to merge the parties after the election. If the SU goes a more democratic (unlikely way) there will be a chance that Germany wont be separated.
Conference of the regional governors is hold in munich. It will fail if the SU influenced the elections and created the SED. It might succeed if the eastern elections were democratic. Though there should be an option for the SU to foil the conference even though they had democratic elections (foil would be action_a; let it be action_b)
1947
ERP Program is started = Industries get strenghened in the western zones
British Zone and US zones are merged.
I would say at that point there should be the possibility if everything went ahistoric that there might be a conference that could unify Germany as a neutral state. If not then history proceeds as in reality
1948
The French zone gets merged with the US/GB zone and the Deutsche Mark is introduced in the western zones. Another bonus to the economy of the western zone.
Berlin Crisis. US will have choice if it wants to help
1949
The zones become West Germany respectevly East Germany.
Though the allies retain military access until both states join the respective alliance.
Austria
1945
Formation of a Federal Government
Every occupying nation should get an event to accept the new government (action_a accept action_b not accept)
Federal Electons in Austria (Communists take decisive defeat)
1947 ERP Program for the whole country (should be a significant boost as Austria was the country that got most money per capita)
1950 Comunists try to establish a general strike. Is beaten down by the social democratic trade union. (Should have slim chance to succeed which may lead to a separation of the country)
1955 State Treaty and Neutrality
April 15th meeting in Moscow (3 possibilities. 1st Mocow approves independence but Austria must stay neutral 2nd Austria gets independence and may do what it want = may join NATO 3rd Austria gets separated like Germany (very unlikely).
15th may Austria becomes independent if a or b are choosen by the SU
26th october Austria declares Neutrality (should get guarantees of independence by GB,US,FRA,SU)

it should be handeled as an occupied country, and in 1949, the allies get a "germany becomes independant again"-event after wich fdr is created properly.
Until then, there should be marshall-plan events that, hm, maybe just reduce the ressources and the supplies of the US, but patch up relations with GB and france (if they need any patching...). Include the possibility to extend the marshallplan on the eastern occupation zone and the sovjet union.
