Late to the party, here. I am a bit surprised to find so many people being opposed to the randomization. Personally I absolutely love this. In a way this makes it "more historic" than the original New World (because the scramble to find and secure the choicest pieces of land is much more intense). If you don't like it, either don't buy the DLC or "untick" the randomization option.
I wouldn't mind an DLC that allows you to play in a completely randomized alternate reality, or even in a fantasy one. It's one of the reasons I come back to Civ V so much (mostly for co-op multiplayer).
