I installed and tried to play Epigoni mod, but when i load up my senate is empty and it crashes within a year or two. Any suggestions?

I am using Vae Victus. I tried beta patch 2.31b and now 2.31c. Same result.

Vanilla game runs fine. I even did a fresh install. Maybe I'm doing something wrong in the installation/patch process. Could you advise me about the right patch order for vanilla, and if there is anything special I need to do with the mod files?
The mod files are simply placed in the mod folder. Have you successfully used any other mods ?
As for patch ordering I dont really know. I would just use the game to patch it up as high as possible and then apply the latest beta patch(es).
