Rather than naming worlds (star name) + Prime, let's make a more interesting naming system.

Despotic Empires and Enlightened Monarchies name planets after their King, Crown Prince, or maybe even Queen if they add that feature later. Autocracies may have a chance of this as well.

Militaristic empires name planets after five star admirals, generals, warships, or important victorious battles.

Materialistic empires and science govs name planets after five star scientists or successful science ships.

Xenophobes will rename conquered planets if they have been specially named by the previous owners.

Spiritual species may name planets after religious or moral concepts like hope, faith, or prophets

Worlds might also be named after the homeworld, for example, "New Earth".

More important worlds like large Gaia worlds are more likely to get special names than low habitability small worlds.

Reactions:
By default the game uses the name (Star Name) Prime for the first planet in any system but you should have a dice on that windows to select a random name from your Empires Name List, with priority going to names that are of that planets planet type (ie an when colonizing an arctic planet if you press the "select a random name" button it will first draw a name from the pc_arctic section of the name list). However I do agree with what you are proposing.

Which if I am understanding you correctly is that, for example, in a Despotic Empire (or basically any government type with a single ruler that passes down a genetic line) after a ruler die there name will be written to a temp_name_list for that game and those names can be selected for the names of colonies that are made after that rulers name was added to the list. The only thing I would do is expand it to allow combat ships to be named after important admirals (generally the ones that fought in a major battle and got their name in the history books), science ships to be named after important scientists (probably limit this to those that spent most of their career surveying and doing anomalies), and maybe allow armies to be named after generals.
