Much to my embarrassment, I was attempting to borrow the ones from Compendium at one point for testing, and they must have mistakenly wound up in a release build. I did put the name into world names, however.

As far as I know, Darksoul is testing the ai and will migrate to 1.4 soon and see what develops. When I get time, I'll resume attempting to get British India working.
 
Just want to say that im sorry for being inactive but the school is taking all my time but its one week left then its summer breake so then i will have alot of time to work then :D

No! you will go to my home and visit Portugal, then you will have a lot of time to work work on :D
 
I was thinking about adding some custom music for the mod since AoD lets you add nation specific music. What do you guys think?

No objection here, I actually wouldn't mind seeing that as a separate, optional download so we wouldn't have to weigh down the rar with it each time we download a new version.
 
Sorry for the inactivity, I'll start making British India for the mod today, do you guys, should I add it as a puppet of the UK?
 
If you can actually get the game to start up with British India, I'll buy you a beer if you're ever in town. My intent was to start nailing down the problem after Darksoul finished up his AI tweaks, but since AoD has no savedebug.txt that I'm aware of, it's a difficult proposition.

There may actually be a britishindia.inc in the scenarios folder of the last version, feel free to look. If not, I've planned that country as U01 and set its national provinces to this:

That may not be 100% right, but it's not far off.

Essentially, even with the incs edited to include British India, the scenario always crashed on load for me when I tried it. Good luck.

Uhm, about you trying to add British India to the game, have you ever tried to remove the provinces form being controlled by the UK? That can cause some issues...
 
That was the first thing I did. On scenario load, there were no province errors, it was something else that made it CTD. If you can magically locate savedebug, I can tell you, but until then it's trial and error.

My friend Simonsyndaren came from Sweden so I took the week off ;)

Any news on British India? If that is working I would like to get it so I can work with the British and British India AIs instead of just the British.
 
Agreed. I have a number of event chains that I can't implement until British India actually loads.

India needs to annex British India when Japan comes knocking at their door, not to mention the permutations of the Alliance for Democracy that comes when Germany is defeated.
 
I've been tinkering with a workaround for the 36 scenario, specifically in creating British India by event since putting it in the scenarios has so far only yielded a CTD at every turn. The intent is for that country to leave the Allies in 40-41 and surrender to Japan, followed by an independent India annexing the country and declaring neutrality. I'll keep everyone posted of my progress, but this should not be a monstrously tough prospect.

Getting it to work in the 42 scenario will be something else entirely, however, as I'm predicting the same inexplicable CTDs from giving the provinces to IND. I'm wondering if I can look at an old version of the scenario that included, say, Nepal and reassign provinces, then change the country tags. This may be a viable workaround, or another wild goose chase.
 
I'm pleased to announce that I've solved the British India problem that had been plaguing this mod for a while, and for my part, killed any interest in developing it for a few months.

However, using a completely counter-intuitive solution involving my last DD-ARM version of the mod and the Paradox Hoi2 editor, we now have a working British India in the mod. It's not ready to release yet, but it shouldn't be long before it will, probably in the next couple of days when I'm happy with some other smaller fixes. As of now, it is mostly untested, but dry-firing the events will force British India to release India, which will then annex British India.

Small update...

I've been tinkering with a lot of events and the resource/IC balance, and I'm not yet happy with where we are. Too many countries had too few resources to feed their IC, and I've made some crudely effective alterations to this. Darksoul and I are also working on problems regarding ESE for "continent states" like the Draka, US, Germany, etc. that arose in 1.04.

As it is, the game will run until at least 1961 without a crash, but none of the powers will invade Japan. However, the 42 scenario runs fine until Germany is annexed, and then will CTD. As it is, we need some serious balance tweaking, the Draka AI will nearly always attack Germany through Italy and Bulgaria rather than strictly through the Caucasus, and no country under any circumstances makes a landing in Japan's home islands. Draka infantry runs way, way too quick across Europe for the size of the German forces involved, and this needs some work on both sides.

That's the progress report, we are making strides, but every issue fixed seems to bring on two or three new ones.
