So i didn't know if this was a bug or a design choice, so i did a bug report and was just told:

"Hello there and thanks for the report! Conqueror not being available in the Ruler Designer is a design choice and not a bug. If you have any more questions feel free to post them on the forum!"

I Honestly can't follow and even less understand Paradox/CK3 Development Team's vision and design in this game anymore (this isn't the only thing). So i was trying to make the King of East Francia a custom family with the conqueror trait and then play as a vassal hoping it will create the HRE easier(Since we have invasions for Seljuks, Hungary...we could have for HRE but thats for another day). And i found out the Conqueror traits isn't listed in the Ruler Designer.

Now this is very weird considering i can make a 100 stat character with all other traits and they even added the "Immortal" trait to the game...but Conqueror? Yea no this was very thought out design choice. They could easily add the Conqueror trait and like the Immortal trait make it cost 10000 points.

Is there something that i'm missing? I mean i did an observations game and an adventurer game and saw the game spawn conqueror soo...whats the deal?

It's a decision trait, you cannot obtain those through the ruler designer. There are plenty of other traits that you also cannot apply that way. If it matters so much, it takes literally less than a minute to use a save game editor and apply it.

Not only, I've seen players getting it through events on landed characters

Yes, and? It's a CONDITIONAL + RNG event.

row 11854: "shown_in_ruler_designer = no" change this to yes, and you'll have the trait in ruler designer. Now let us stop crying about this and start worrying about why "sodomite" isn't in the ruler designer...

Tbh I find it bizarre that players can earn this trait in game. I’ve been prompted by events twice asking me if I want to accept this trait.

Contrast this to immortality in CK2, which required considerable effort and was very hit or miss to obtain. Also the relevant event was much rarer and was merely the *start* of the effort to become immortal. I have no idea why the devs take such a hardline on that trait’s return but are apparently willing to hand out this cheatmode trait in a random event, just like that?

Ok but i'm not talking about myself or the Player, i'm talking about the AI but even if the player took it, you get the event and the trait? Honestly i just don't get the decisions for this game.

Another thing I and others posted, we don't get why i can't play any charcter character that is part of a Dynasty and is not Landed. I mean the mod "Switch to Landless Adventurer" is such a simple thing and i think there are a lot of character (like a third son of a House for example) that people would like to play as but for some reason it's locked in vanilla? Again i know there are mods and thx for pointing out how to fix it (Someone is probably going to make a mod for the Conqueror trait in RD...) but i'm honestly baffeled to those design decisions.

Or is ther more to the trait? Can you tell me which traits you can't apply in the ruler designer? I'm honestly curious since i don't play every religion, culture to know if there are other traits locked from the ruler designer.

TBH, the Conqueror trait was always a meme waiting to happen. I'm sure we're going to see it nerfed significantly.

Do you know how unimaginably broken conqueror is as a trait? 5 extra gold per month and your men at arms are practically free among other benefits. On top of that it can be inherited. (I had 4 successive generations inherit the trait in a recent game and it only stopped inheriting because I stopped playing) There's no way conqueror should ever be allowed for a fresh new character at game start.

Just make it cost 500+ points so it wouldn't be available for achievements
You are allowed to take Immortal trait of all things

Oh, and you also can pick both Peasant Leader and Populist leader... and your armies will be completely free

Yea i know, which makes it perfect for making AI ruleres, like i said. I was hoping making a AI Conqueror for East Francia so it would expand and form HRE in the 867 start and i would play as a german count.

But in general how is that different than just making an "All positive traits 100 Stat man"? I mean i'm just baffeled that this is a "Design choice" considering how the state of the game is regarding balance and everything else.

I set up game-start scenarios all the time using debug mode and the console. You won’t get achievements this way, but all you have to do is keep the game paused after you’ve created all the characters you want via the ruler designer, click on the one you want to be an AI conqueror, and use the console to add the trait.
