Please explain the issue you experienced in the most condensed way possible
when I go to steam to run the game the launcher is crashing, if I go the root folder of the game and run just the CK3.exe it works, I have tested my other games and they are working fine.

Please explain how to reproduce the issue
Just by click on run game on steam

Is there anything else you think could help us identify/replicate the issue?

I have the exact same issue, except I use no mods. Win10/steam

EDIT going to appdata/local/programs/paradox interactive/ and deleting all the files and folders there (with steam closed), then restarting the game and letting it resintall the launcher worked for me. There were many old versions but not the latest one that should end with 2020.16. best of luck to you

Thank you for reaching out. As @Ashkelon101 stated above - you will need to reinstall the launcher, since the game will not run properly with an older version. Once you do that, you should experience no further crashes!
