Please explain your issue is in as much detail as possible.
random freeze of game and game has to be stopped and reloaded losing any progress since last save

As you can see there are lots of DirectX 11 errors in that log. this is probably because you are running the game on an Intel video system, which is not supported hardware for this game.

To help with that We can try this: In your Steam Library right-click on this game and choose Properties. Click on Set Launch Options, and paste this in there:
-force-d3d9
