Hello. First sorry for my bad english :(
I'm having stutters after updating stellaris.
Before 2.6~ When it had to take long time before loading mods when u press launch, there was no problems with stuttering.
yes it had lags but it was way after 200~yrs in the game.
I've checked lots of forums and threads, I've seen some people with same problems but couldn't solve it.
Tried Taskmanager stuffs, tried -opengl Thread~ and everything i can find but could not solve the problem.

Using I5-6500 with GTX 1060 6GB + 16 RAM. CK3 works fine, HOI4 works fine,
but stellaris, NO... Even i tried to re-install and using no mods, it keeps giving me stutter and choppiness.

Can i pls get help. I really love this game :(

DXDIAG is a program you run from a command prompt or the Windows start menu 'run' dialog box (or 'search programs' in Windows 7 or later). After running it will open a window and start collecting info with a progress bar in the lower-left corner. When it completes click the 'save all information' button and save it to a file then attach that file here.

Please attach your Documents/Paradox/Stellaris/settings.txt and pdx_settings.txt .
From your Documents/Paradox/Stellaris/logs/ folder, attach system.log , error.log .

Please unload GeForce Experience and test the game again - does it still have this problem?

And, why are you running the game in openGL mode? That is always slower than DirectX, please undo that.

I've unload GE, turned it off, still doesn't work.
Used opengl for just 2times. Its off now.
I just used it cause i saw a forum about similar problem.

Removing openGl should have helped to some degree, as that is slower that DirectX. Are you saying removing that made no difference at all?

Can i see new copies of all five of those files I asked for before, please?

it made pretty no difference. Reduced frequency of it but still has choppiness.
Here's the files. Thx

Two mod errors in there. You are doing this testing with no mods enabled, is that right?

Does this problem happen on ever game speed, or just speed 5?

All your disks except D: are low on free space; especially for C: Windows likes to have at least 10% free as elbow room. If your Windows paging files is on C: , the default, you should free up as much space as you can there.

Right click on stellaris.exe , properties, compatibility, and tick Disable fullScreen optimisations and Apply that. In the launcher set Display mode to fullScreen, is that any better?

And finally if none of that helps, run Task Manager and go to the Performance tab. When this problem is happening, what do you see in there? Are there jumps in CPU or GPU that match the stuttering you see in the game?

I'm sorry I couldn't reply. I've send my ssd to mechanics to check it out. And they said theres no probs, so nothing is wrong about storage. I've cleaned it out about 30% free space, and tried all your suggestions. But still has choppiness.
I'm wondering if windows version might cause this kind of problems.

It happens on every speed, but when i switch the speed up it increase frequency of choppiness.
Task manager show no problem. It's stable.
Is there anyone else having problems similar like me?
Cause if not I think I'll wait for next update or WINDOW update if there's no clue about it.

I am surprised that the choppiness is not visible in Task Manager!

Does this problem happen when paused, or only when running? Does it affect zooming or scrolling the map , or even if still?

It is certainly not a general or universal problem, no. Possibly there are other cases of course.

It happens when running, any speed. When paused, even with mods on theres no stutter.
And not that serious, before this there was a problem, serious frame drop when looking at government screen. (leader screen. but at this point the game was working well. it was before 2.6)

Maybe something with regedit might cause this problem?
Final method might be format this device. :(

From what I've read it affects only small group of people. Apparently changing CPU affinity or deleting old saves helped some people but it doesn't work in our case. I have tried many tricks in the book but game is still stuttering...

If you can try to clean install Windows and see if issue still persists, that would be awesome. It will help with eliminating any software related causes for stuttering.

If that doesn't help it means the cause is persistent through reinstalling Windows and that narrows down our bug hunt!
