Buyable maps on release?!? Not cool!

Just started up the game and noticed you can already buy "Multiplayer Map Pack" for 2,99?!?

I can say absolutely nothing about the quality of the game but that pisses me off a bit. Releasing DLC at a later date sure but a versus map pack at release... I hate that!

I can't think of many recent games where Paradox Interactive has not had this... I'm no longer surprised/upset.. will just wait til the map pack goes on sale for 0.50 cents to a dollar.

Day one dlc's will usually leave bad aftertaste. Map packs are nice way to divide multiplayer community, seen that happen so many times already(tho here they at least allow ppl who don't have dlc maps join games hosted by those who have such) but to tell the truth I'm more annoyed here because of ships that are getting sold in dlc's, ships that are already in game as enemies.
Well but I can say that it is nice that at least one of those dlc's is free, challenge map.

Just to leave some positive thing in this thread.. the game itself is really awesome!
But as you said Kell, it leaves a bit of a bad aftertaste. Especially when it is obvious that this is not added after release - this is just content cut from the game and a price tag added!

I don't particularly like day one DLC, but I honestly hope this game has many more DLC to come in the future! Expand on your great game!

In this case, I'm not too bothered about first day DLC. You get extra boats which is fair enough, they don't want to include that in the initial release and then you have some extra maps. Yes, it could create a bit of an issue with different people having different maps, but it doesn't bother me too much.
