Hi everyone, I am still wondering whether or not a cheat exists to add a bloodline to a character, as certain starts after all prevent certain bloodlines from being "collected", i.e. how the sassanids are extinct at any start after the charlemagne start, etc.

So does anyone know a cheat for this?

Except for the few historical bloodlines which can emerge out of events or decisions (Temüjin Borjigin's (Genghis Khan's), Matilde de Canossa's, Ragnarr af Munso's, and a few others) there is no way to reintroduce extinct bloodlines after the fact, except by editing the game save files. See the wiki for specifics on this: https://ck2.paradoxwikis.com/Bloodline#Historical_bloodlines.

Many of the forged or other created bloodlines are tied to specific events. You can trigger these by using the event console command and the appropiate event ID.

Bloodlines are all added by events, you can add the bloodline of your choice by simply manually firing the event. The syntax is -

event <event_id> <character_id>

The character_id is your character's id (found via the command charinfo in the console), the event id will depend upon which line you want your character to follow. You can see a list of the options here -

https://ck2.paradoxwikis.com/Bloodline#Event_Chain_Bloodlines

Cheers

I attempted to edit the savefile and looked up my character via. its character id, etc. but could find no variable under my character that indicated bloodlines, so pardon me asking, but could you perhaps elaborate on how to edit the savefile?

With Kind Regards,

This is because bloodlines are stored in their own section of the game file. From a recent save file of my own, at line 1835282 (this will obviously vary, depending on gamelength and other things - this is from 781 or so):

Code:
bloodline=
    {
        0=
        {
            type="caratacus"
            owner=252141
            flags=
            {
                historical_bloodline=769.1.1
            }
            created="21.1.1"
            member=252141
            member=252149
            member=252150
            member=252151
            member=252152
            member=252153
...

So as you can see, bloodlines are created as their own distinct element. When a new character is born who has recieved the bloodline, their name is added to the end of this list as "member= <Character ID>," which you can edit yourself if you care to do so.

Thank you so much Cuttlefishman :)
I had a saint earlier in my current game and for some reason her grandchild did not have her bloodline, which gave me even more of a reason for wanting to know this :)

With Kind Regards,
