It means "land of", "land", "country" or "state", since I talk mostly about countries you see it a lot. Kind of like "land" in German, or "ia" (which is the basis for "já") in latin: Croatia, Serbia, Latvia, Lithuania, Russia, Albania...
Hmm, for testing : Kroatien, Serbien, Letland, Litaun, Rusland, Albanien. Guess Danes uses ien. Prussia in Danish is just the german word Preussen, I expect we just use the Prussian word in this timeline then? :b
