Hi. I'm wondering if ai empires terraform planets to expand if no good planets are in reach or do they get planets back lost through crisis bombardment? (barren worlds with terraform candidate modifier)

Or do they build hive/machine worlds and ecumenopolis planets?

I've had a game where the AI has colonised other planets in late game but not sure if that's due to terraforming or habitability tech. I'll have to keep that in mind next game and note the planet types in there location and see what happens. But I think they do terraform.

As for the ecumenopolis and machine world's I'm unsure so can't say and don't have hive mind in my games I hate them.
Sorry I carnt be more helpful.
