Greetings! I'm a long-time Stellaris fan, especially of the mod Gigastructural Engineering. I am currently writing a novel which I think should be called "No choice but to believe" , which I hope actually could be associated with Stellaris. It's about a situation when the Earth gets contacted by a multi-species delegation which wants to invite the Earth to join a Federation.

An update. I am on chapter 30 of my novel.

If there are any Swedish-speakers here, I would love feedback. If you want, I could make it loosely connected to Stellaris (the alien species are loosely inspired by Stellaris species, with an Aquatic commander, a Reptilian giga-engineer, a Plantoid healer, an Insectile architect and a quite neurotic Avian programmer). The story is basically a first contact scenario, told both from the perspective of the Earthlings and of the aliens of the Orion Trade League (think Materialist, Pacifist, Xenophile).

You are welcome to ask me for a draft of the novel.

I wish you luck with it all. I find it amazing when people write stories and novels of games they might really like (Edit: whether indirect / direct references). A friend of mine did it for a game that was released just over 20 years ago. I don't know how well it sold but for many a impassioned player, it meant a lot :)

Stellaris, like you said:
It is inspired by my experiences playing Stellaris, but does not use any of the *official* races in Stellaris (except, for obvious reasons, humanity, but I do not think that Paradox owns any copyrights on fictional descriptions of Earth). And Stellaris has obviously derived a lot of the things present in the game from a wide array of sci fi universes.

This music video has inspired me equally much:
