You can only do so many rants about women having the mental age of children before people stop watching for the EU4 content.
Best bit was women are men, because wo is just a prefix. I do keep him watching for the EU4 content, despite his convictions he's a top tier player (and I honestly don't think that the rants invalidate his game insights), though I also "like" the rants, because even though I'll never share his views, it's an opportunity to see outside my bubble and experience how "the other side" thinks. Plus his rants are Twitch exclusive, and the videos he puts out on YT have value both for newbies and experienced players, so I think it's a net positive he he starts posting EU4 videos again.

I know there's value in seeing other views and such, but I would find it quite difficult to watch the videos/streams with rants included because I would basically be insulted while and due to watching...also 'rants' doesn't sound like he's really expressing his view in a rational way with arguments to back it up and such, so how much insight does it really offer?

And since I have the mental age of a child according to him, it sounds like he doesn't even want me to watch his videos...

I find that to be very irritating I thought Spain would end up with some nice flavor, I just formed West Rome in a mod, so I assumed that Paradox was adding in with that thumbnail. Annoying to hear it's a lie

Yeah. :/

It was a few years ago during one of his Roman empire streams, iirc. Some story about some woman which turned into a screed that this obviously showed that all women were children. Gross stuff.
It's not uncommon to see generalized complaints after someone has a bad interaction with one person. I have heard worse said about men, in person, from friends haha. But I got the impression from a reddit thread there was a lot more going on with twitch side of things. I don't watch anyone on twitch though, so I haven't observed/heard any of the comments first hand. It sounds like he tried to get into culture war stuff w/o the amount of research/effort/entertainment value/etc that would support streams on it from what I was told. I'm not even inclined to watch live streams of topics I anticipate enjoying though, so it's unlikely I'll ever know first hand.

He backs some quite unorthodox idea group choices in EU 4 too, pretty much the only player performing at that level to do so that I know of.

Ludi would look tame if i see BudgetMonk do this.
I have heard Ludi cheated and was dishonest and had some manufactured beef with Redhawk but as far as I am aware he's never said anything that insulting like BudgetMonk has, and I got the impression Ludi wasn't trying to use his channel to share his 'special' views about contemporary politics and society...?

There are a number of issues with Ludi's content already, even not including this obvious clickbait.. Regardless of that, I think this kind of behaviour is very common from content creators and it's kind of good practice to take every thumbnail you see on youtube with a grain of salt. At the end of the day I don't think paradox can do much about it and it's an issue that should be taken to Ludi directly instead.

I agree on that. I have many reason to dislike Ludi but primarily because i think 1 or 2 years ago he make a very poor taste misogynist joke in his Timurid video. I guess he realized he make a mistake since it look like he never do that again but what i heard from him and thumbnail Ludi conduct is still obnoxious and his thumbnail pissed me off so i never returned to Ludi.

But if what BudgetMonk do in Twitch is true and worse if i see him in Youtube the same as he did in Twitch. Then as i said Ludi would look tamed compared to BudgetMonk

Just to reiterate, I've made peace with/resigned myself to clickbait like "this feature is BROKEN/OVERPOWERED" because ultimately I recognise they're subjective opinions. I could call the Byzantine ideas overpowered because they're the only set that grants +3 Tolerance of True Faith, but I doubt that would gain much traction. My grievance with the video in the OP isn't that, it's that Ludi is claiming a feature that does not exist and that's why I feel it crosses the line from 'mere' clickbait to lies. And my reason for presenting it here is he was clearly given an early draft of the dev diary by Paradox, so in effect his video is an extension of their marketing policy, and it's an extension I feel is inherently dishonest rather than exaggerative.

Absolutely.

Like it or hate it, clickbait thumbnails are a feature of youtube, and they aren't going anywhere. In fact, I've heard a lot of gaming youtubers say that they feel they have to "jazz up" their thumbnails in order to get more recommendations via the algorithm, and they that hope their long-term subscribers will understand and forgive them.

In general, when thinking about video thumbnails or titles, always remember Betteridge's Law of Headlines: "Any headline that ends in a question mark can be answered by the word no."

I mean, you can form Rome. And it is very easy to do so as Aragon, which I guess this part of the thumbnail comes from.
