Well i don t have many paradox games. I loved Crusader 2.
I like Pillars of eternity and restrained from buying Tyranny. Why ?
I fear some missteps are being done:
Short Game,
Not much eploration repetitive small cenarios;
Obsidian games take times to reach maturity, Pillars only reached it this year;
The way expansions have been implemented in PoE,
Only 4 people (its easyer to micromanage but kills a lot of syles of play,
Only pré-chosen companions (even if usually i create a team from what i find just to see the interactions),
The fear of implementation of fake choices as evil (and i was right - Mindless evilness),
And finally this....eternals DLC paradox policy. It may have worked for some games.(Crusaders 2 it did for me)
But many are complaining about Stellaris and i fear it will be the case with Tyranny. The extremely short game lead to think that way.
So i will wait for some... GOTY / Megasale....
I haven t bought pre order and i am hapy with this decision.
Maybe some things must be thought over in the next games.
If fear some things are too stall.
Small maps, this should be modernized.... It gives a Slideshow impression, games like 1rst person open world may have spoiled some players, but small companies like bare meetle are trying to break the confinement of the genre. I find it sad Obsidian may be lagging behind, but then i hope you have something in store ambitious. Tyranny ain t ambitious, it s a small twist.
I find i mis some kind of "personnal" MMO like what was tried with NWN...
I wish something more ambitious than half D&D half personal system. Odsidian should have enought vision and manpower to try other systems....but i may be wrong.
Whatever i hope the genre will evolve, a bit faster than Tyranny.
