Forum Sanction System

Welcome to the Paradox Forum! This is a place to discuss Paradox games and related subjects in a respectful environment. To ensure this we have a couple of rules in place, and by agreeing to participate on these forums, you are agreeing to these rules. The forum moderators have full discretion to address any behavior they feel is inappropriate, and Paradox reserves the right to suspend your access to the forum at any time if you fail to comply with these rules. Individual Game Forums may have additional rules. It is your responsibility to ensure that you are aware of the current rules and forum guidelines for posting and that you treat everyone with respect.

Please make sure to read our Community Code of Conduct to be up-to-date with the behavior we expect from each member while using the Official Paradox Interactive Forum.

We have changed the infraction system, so while the rules are roughly the same, the way we enforce the rules has changed. Minor infractions result in removal of the post and/or a warning PM'd to you, but breaking the same minor infraction twice will upgrade it to a major infraction and result in a temporary or permanent ban. If you break a Major Infraction the post will be removed and there is now a Three Strikes System of Moderation in place (with exceptions for severe cases). There is no expiration date on infractions.

• First Major infraction will result in a temporary 3 day suspension
• Second Major infraction will result in a temporary 1 month suspension
• Third Major infraction will result in a permanent ban from the forum

Minor infractions result in removal of the post, but continued minor infractions can also result in a temporary or permanent ban. For instance, if you use a swear word once in a thread, the post will get removed and you will get a minor infraction. But if you continue using swear words after receiving the minor infraction, that will upgrade it to a major infraction.

If you see another user break these rules, do not engage with them. Use the report button that is located at the bottom left of the post and the moderators will handle it.

These rules are to ensure that everyone feels comfortable asking for help, sharing tips and tricks and engaging with other players and Paradox developers. This is a game forum and was never intended to facilitate the needs of everyone who wants to talk about anything at any time. Moderators and Administrators are used to keep the content in-line with Paradox's vision and purpose of this forum. Thank you for your cooperation!

Major Infractions

Inappropriate behavior

Respect Paradox staff and other forum members. You will not post messages that are considered offensive or discriminatory to other people. This includes, but is not limited to, sexist language, ethnic slurs, hate speech and religious epithets. Do not share other people's personal information or scams. We do not allow accounts trading or multiple accounts.

Do not make posts or messages that are inflammatory or toxic, including posts that are designed to or likely to get inappropriate responses. We do not tolerate any form of racism, sexism, homophobia or transphobia, or any other form of discrimination.

We welcome constructive criticism, but do not tolerate inappropriate behavior. You can criticize the product, but under no circumstances do we allow personal attacks.

Inappropriate content

You may not post or message any illegal or inappropriate content, or links to such content, for instance depictions of Nazi symbols or propaganda (including in-game screenshots, please edit them before posting), pornographic material, Not Safe For Work content, infringement of intellectual property or discussions of drugs or piracy. We do not allow advertisement, spam, scam, phishing or hacks. Any unreleased content, hacked data files, leaks, unauthorized copyrighted or trademarked material will be removed.

Commenting publicly on mod/admin action

Do not comment, question or argue with the actions or authority of the forum moderators in public. If you want to discuss a warning or policy do it over PM either to a mod or admin. If you need to contest a ban you can email: admin@paradoxinteractive.com

Minor Infractions

Off topic, trollish or real-world current affairs

Please make sure that the thread is relevant to your query/issue before posting, and that you would not be derailing the existing topic by replying. When creating a thread of your own, be sure to post in the right forum. You will only post messages that are within the particular forum's scope or topic. You will use descriptive subject titles when posting new threads. You will not hijack threads for your own purpose but, rather, will begin a new thread with the new subject. You will not toe the line of inappropriate behaviour or content. Real-world religion, politics or events should not be discussed when not present in the game or in the context of the game. You will not discuss real-life politics in the game forums, any mention of subjects such as (but not limited to) gulags, the deus vult controversy, or concentration camps will be removed.

Offensive username

Do not create offensive usernames or names that are protected by copyright or trademark, or which impersonate a Paradox staff member or another real person. Do not register more than one forum account in an attempt to bypass Board security measures, such as to ignore bans or moderator's decisions about content. Sockpuppets will be instantly banned.

Excessive down-voting

Going through other users' posts and down-voting everything they've ever posted is unnecessarily toxic and not allowed.

Spamming, external links or polls

Posts or messages with the incentive to sell, buy, or trade products or services, links to auctions, affiliate links, links to promote personal or commercial websites, blogs, personal social media channels and other forums are not allowed without the permission of Paradox. Double-posting is not allowed, or starting several threads on the same topic. Minor spam includes posts such as “First” on Dev Diaries. Polls are only allowed with prior permission from a moderator or admin. Obvious scams or phishing attempts will be instantly banned.

Foul language

This forum is Safe For Work and we do not allow any foul language, profanity or swear words. Working around this rule in any way, including using asterisks, is still considered swearing and therefore not permitted.

Necromancy

Posting in threads that haven't had any replies in over 6 months old is frowned upon and if you have come across a thread relating to your issue that is this old, please make a new thread about the issue.

Writing in non-English in English boards

Except for the specially designated "other language" sub-forums, all posts are to be in English as that is the common language of the Forum moderators.

Inappropriate signature

Your signature should be composed of the default font size, default color and should be ten (10) lines maximum (including lines of spaces).

• Your signature should conform to the normal Forum Rules regarding content
• Your signature should not include ASCII made images

Moderators and Administrators reserve the right to take the necessary disciplinary actions to provide everyone with a safe and inclusive environment on Paradox Interactive official forums.
