When you get the Sudetenland from Czechoslovakia you'll go into war. Is it early 1939?

Yes, it is. The Czechs are actually capturing territory and attacking my armies.

I don't remember exactly, but maybe they have a choice based on the event and you're lucky they chose a non-historical choice. Maybe you didn't send troops into the Rhine?

AFAIK there is a 1% chance in the event coded that Czechoslovakia decides "ahistorically".
