I send that to you by PM yesterday.

I tried the download from pimparel, unzip worked fine, but the programme chrashes on load. I have Win98SE.
Compiled on Win2000pro.
Shouldn't have any problems on win98 and I don't have a computer with it here to try with...

Just a check question, you did place the resource files with the exe, right?

It seems to run fine. The only problem I can see is the slight lack of available cultures for some of the triggers and commands.

Other than that, excellent work.

Download it here (63.1kb)

Waiting for the next version... (Thumbs up smiley) :D

New version in the group. Will look for my own hosting during my lunchbreak.
New stuff:
Some cosmetics like pop up info etc
Expanded commands to d* phfew, that is a big bunch of commands, anyone who cares to help out?

->Steele
Sure cultures are in the "I need the info" list:
policy_tag
culture_tag
ideology_tag
invention_tag
reform_tag
reform_level_tag
religion_tag
party_id
unit_type_tag
canal_id
If you have the info I'd appreciate it.

->Ilkhold
I tried compiling it with no compression could you go in to the group site and download the latest version?

I tried the new download, but that version also crashes on launch.
OK.
I've created a full installation package :rolleyes:
But it is 2.3 Mb so I need a new place to put it....

For the rest of you this will be the adress from now on:
Victoria Event Builder [73kb]
Thanks Pimparel. The only limitation I could see was that you couldn't upload files larger than 1Mb...

New version.
Now is the time for real beta testing.
Could someone who is used to modding go through triggers and commands.
Tell me if more options should be available. I must have missed some -1 and -2 commands somewhere. Also if some triggers/commands are missing completely.
The User Interface is pretty much finished so is there any buttons or functions that people think are missing?

->Ilkhold
Since my trash email accont is hotmail therefore I can't send larger files than 1Mb. :mad:

->Ilkhold
Nope, it has created a .cab file of all associated dll files etc.
:(

->Grosshaus
The upload forum rules are quite clear about executable files...
:rofl:
So I will have to find alternatives unless someone like Johan or Patrick shows up and makes an exception.

Couldn't you zip it into smaller pieces?

You can split the file in smaller pieces! Winzip can do it, Winrar too or at Download.com, there is this free program (JR Split File 2.1 ) that can be used.

NOW the flattery part: OMFG!!! Great job, the best thread in the Forum, will same me HOURS!

Bottom Line,
Thanks for your effort.

Executables are welcomed as well, the rar rule is there to prevent people from posting mods in zip format which isn't as efficient. And although this isn't a mod, it's a program that seems to help in modding and fits there just well.

Besides, no need to have Johan around to make exceptions in rules I've made myself :D

Latest version is up.
The new feature is provinces.
After thinking how to get both id and tag (for simplicity) I instead created a helper combobox that you can sort by either name or number.
The problem though is that since I got my data from the Geography files there seems to be missing provinces in there...
Could someone point me to a FULL list of province_id+province_Tag?

I still don't have data on these items:
canal_id
culture_tag
ideology_tag
invention_tag
party_id
policy_tag
reform_tag
religion_tag
workforce_tag
So I would like to have help finding lists of available data.

I've sent you a mail with a link where you can download it with cab etc...

->Grosshaus
Hello there. I said someone like them :)

Thanks, I really appreciate the effort. I got your mail yesterday, but so far no mail today. Well, sometimes e-mails are slow. I still got hope, that one day, I will be able to run your programme ;)

New attempt, rebuilt the project, spanned the cab files, uploaded them and... phewww some things are really more difficult than necessary...
:mad:
Hope this works.
:D

Rightclick these links and select Save as...
http://upl.mine.nu/uplfolders/upload9/setup_EventBuilder.exe
http://upl.mine.nu/uplfolders/upload9/EventB1.rar
http://upl.mine.nu/uplfolders/upload9/EventB2.rar
http://upl.mine.nu/uplfolders/upload9/EventB3.rar
http://upl.mine.nu/uplfolders/upload9/EventB4.rar
http://upl.mine.nu/uplfolders/upload9/SETUP.rar

Rename the file extension on EventB1-4 from rar to cab.
Rename the file extension on Setup.rar from rar to cls.
(Had to rename them before upload).

Run the setup.

You need to get the txt resource files from the link I gave the others..
:rolleyes:
You couldn't multiselect dependent files in MS-VisualStudio so I didn't bother.

"Setup cannot find '../SETUP_EVENTBUILDER.LST' Setup is aborting..."

Ok, I manually extracted the Cab files, there is another setup file inside and the eventbuilder exe. The setup gives error messages, the eventbuilder crashes like before. Something wrong in FM20.dll.
All dlls and txt files were in the same directory

So, I replaced the fm20.dll in windows system folder and then it worked. Though it seems to give error messages without much information if just any of the text files is missing.
